Andy Murray's Wimbledon campaign begins today with a First Round match against Nikolay Davydenko. At first glance a tough match but giving it though I am less concerned. Davydenko is past his best and has failed to get past the First Round in four of his last six slams. Should be a comfortable enough match for Andy.
The bigger challenges lie ahead with possible 4th Round encounters against Milos Raonic or Marin Cilic awaiting. The quaerters could see Del Potro or Ferrer waiting but that doesn't concern me as much as the possible 4th Round. If Andy gets through to the semis Nadal awaits and then with confidence higher then who knows?
Personally, don't think Murray is in the best shape mentally or physically going in here and so my hopes aren't high but with Andy who knows. He offers a high level of consistency at slams now so I have my fingers crossed.
Best of luck Andy.

Seems like McEnroe gets a bonus for every compliment he pays to Murray...

Nope. All I want is a thread to discuss purely the tennis and Andy Murray's matches on without smart ass and WUM comments. Is that really such a crime? You are welcome to have an adult and civilised conversation but that seems beyond you. Like I said there are many anti-Murray threads here for you to post on so why not keep your views there? Not a lot to ask is it?

CC,
I think Andy's chances this Wimbledon are no worse than usual. I do not think his draw is as hard as they say. I agree Raonic (or maybe Cilic) may be the hardest part - but neither of those two is impossible to get through. I think Raonic is slightly overrated. He may become really good in future but currently he is quite beatable. As far as QF goes, Andy got a decent one - neither Ferrer nor Delpo are at their best on grass. And if he does make it to the SF then I do not see why his confidence would not be high enough to let him play his best there. Whether that will be enough is a different matter but he should have his chances.
I would be happy for him if he made the final and - depending on who he would meet there if he won it too.

It is quite surprising to see that all big hitters are in Murray's draw.
Nadull has been saved from all the big hitters. Last year Delpo came close to topple Nadull and this year he is not in his draw. I cant remember as when Cillic played Nadull last time.
Murray should reach to semis easy on this form.
Come on Andy!
