Every team needs a "character" which Dioufy certainly was.
No team needs a player with serious behaviour problems and a tendency to attract bad publicity- which Dioufy also did.
I'll always love the guy, he was a fantastic player for us. However I also agree with Bricks that his behaviour at times was frankly disgusting- although still better than Barton, although that doesn't say much.
Lafferty would be a bag full of trouble and I'm not sure Coyle would be able to exercise the same control Allardyce could over "difficult" players.
We need abit of character and grit in the side for sure.
Characters like Steinsson, Nolan and Campo can help to galvanise a team. Thats what we need at the moment. Someone who is a gritty leader on the pitch and at the centre of all the practical jokes and team bonding off the pitch.

Banned from the Rangers team for 2 weeks following a training ground bust up.
Let's get all the nutters in.
--------
Irrational, hypocritical and a downright lazy comment.

I found it quite funny to be honest.

Just to clarify.
I'll give credit to Diouf for learning from what he did wrong which is a rare thing.
Most of them don't change and carry their form with them.

How exactly has Diouf changed?
He's spat at people - fans and players alike - throughout his career.
The sad bit is that people keep giving him the stage to do it, simply because he's a half decent player.
Ethics and morality matter nada in comparison to points in football. Warnock's called him 'lower than a sewer rat' not long ago and is now reportedly on the verge of signing him. Very sad.

Would you trust your manager in the changing room with your unders 12's ??

Lafferty has had an up and down career. He showed a lot of promise at Burnley which prompted Rangers to part with over 3m for him which was too good for Burnley to turn down for a 20 year old. His form often waivered and lead to him being dubbed 'Laugherty' by the Gers fans. He also has had disciplinary issues and there was that incident with Mulgrew against Aberdeen when he got Mulgrew sent off for an alleged headbutt, going down like hed been shot when there had been no contact at all. In the last couple of seasons though his form has vastly improved and he forged a good partnership with Jelavic and linked up well with Naismith out wide. With regards to the training ground bust up, nobody really knows what went on, as with Mills, people escalate stories and they end up being far from the truth. With everything that has happened with Rangers you can hardly be surprised if tempers over flow and arguments happen. These bust ups happen and people move on. He'd be a decent signing on a free, hes only 24 and has a lot of experience winning titles, playing in europe etc. Hes also played at this level before. If Coyle can get him on side and playing to his best we would have a very decent player.

And there was me thinking you might've gotten over your wet dream for our management. Seems to have taken a turn for the worse with the addition of 12yr old males though.
Pretty sure the 'victim' admitted making it all up?

I am not fussed about attitude. That's the managers job to control as saf does with Rooney and others. What we need is a striker with the ability to score 20+ goals this season. If he can't we have two strikers already who work hard but can't score

It is a difficult thing when you bring someone in who's clearly talented and slightly mad.. One manager can handle them, one can't... You only know when the contract has been signed and the wages are being paid.. That's why having Diouf on loan first was a master stroke...
Let me get one thing clear about spitting... If someone came to me and spat in my face, my first instinct would be put them on the floor... It's a disgusting human act & very disrespectful...
BUT
If your son was playing football, would you rather Diouf spat in his face, or one of the many thugs in the game break his leg... I think spitting is wrong, but Diouf is disliked more to do with the full package that he presents in the media... The look, the car, the clothes, the attitude, the domestic disputes etc etc etc...
Bottom line, he spits... So what.. In the grand scheme of life, happiness, love, karma and football... So what...
------------
Re this Lafferty chap, I know Burnley sold him and that's it... Think he was sold by Coyle who with the money allowed the squad to improve so much they went up... Sure Florida can correct or confirm...?
He smells of Boyd and the little one at Cardiff.. Scottish strikers who look good up north and utter guff in England.. (recently) JMc & AW is not recent!!
