New kit each season?

Was just speaking to a manc fan who insisted that clubs are not allowed to sell new kits every season and can only alternate between home and away. Apparently liverpool and united don't.

I know that used to be the case but unless I am going mad. But I thought we now changed every season?

Almost every team brings out a new home, away and third kit each year and sell them all from over £40 . Madness.

There was a gentlemens agreement a few years ago that meant a new kit would be good for 2 years.

Unfortunately there are no gentlemen left in football only greedy money grabbing

I wouldn't mind if the new kit was better than the old one but United's kit this year is awful looking.

Used to be every 2 years, think it used to be on the label at one point that the kit would be good until a certain season.

Chelsea's now don't even last a season, they start wearing the new one around March.

Eh?
We have one game at the end of the season (last home game) where we wear next seasons new kit, like most, if not every other team in the PL

I don't know any team that wears next seasons kit on the last game of the season

Only Chelsea do it that I've seen.

also i really don't understand why people get so annoyed about changing the kits each year. There's no obligation to buy the newest one and one can last for as many years as you like.

Can't blame the club if some fans are willing to add extra income to it. It's their choice to do so
