Chambers

Off to ipswich.

Good riddance.

Rubbish captain, thinks he's a lot better than he is.

I expect he'll do a very good job for them right up until the last year of his contract. Honestly I think we could take a leaf out of teams like Peterborough's books when they get rid of players with a year to go.

Agree Llyod, Posh run there affairs well. Tight ship who cut their cloth accordingly. Their owner has been in the property game and has no doubt lost most of his wealth (his main company is gone) yet they remain competitive and sign upcoming talented lower league players. Maintaining their Championship status with gates of 8k a week is impressive. If we could have their board we'd be pushing for Premiership in no time.

I'm not one for bashing Mark Arthur at every opportunity but this is the area he's been substandard. Getting rid of these players means we get a fee and miss the last year when they're not useful. Looking at people like Chambers and Wilson maybe a year is not enough and it should be longer?

Its common sense surely, a player has a year to run so we offer a enw contract if they say no then transfer list them. players in their last year clearly want to move on or otherwise they'd resign so instead there not committed and wont risk injury, form is affected as their head is turned, team mates know their off so may resent them starting ahead of others etc, how we've been as poor as we have with resigning players is beyond me!! basically brought nothing in on transfer fees in recent years. Players like Holt now looking at a 7m move to West Ham! Evidence is clear that Forest have made a mess of this

to be fair len, anyone suggesting grant holt could be a 7m player when he played for us would have been laughed at and rightfully so.

anyone paying 7m for him even now is off their nut. he's 31 and as blatant an example of a player being lucky to land in the right place at the right time as there has ever been. he's mad wanting to leave norwich because he'll go back to type and cost allardyce his job for that kind of money.

Its his last big payday so fair play to him. Grolt always had potential but sure our donkey of a manager Calderwood played him on the left wing!! As per usual other clubs can see the potential that our coaches / mgmt couldnt when it was right in front of them!!

It's a step sideways IMO... thought he had ambition

Yeah but West Ham are famous for overpaying players to utter ridiculous levels. Prob double or even triple his current wedge

Boogaloo speaks sense, he was average when we had him and badly used. At the time he was very much second fiddle to Tyson which says a lot! Credit to him but nobody has actually paid anything like those figures for him yet.
