Fergie: Nasri won't be joining

Looks like Samir Nasri will not be joining United afterall, Fergie reckons he has agreed to go somewhere else, I personally think it's City. Fergie however didn't rule out signing a replacement for Paul Scholes although he did say it's impossible to replace him.

"It is a loss. How do we overcome it? The next few weeks could help us in that respect. Someone could emerge out of the youth team and we carry on." (Fergie)

I do hope we sign a central midfielder this summer, but that last comment by Fergie gives me the feeling that one of either Morrison, Pogba or Tunnicliffe will be given some game time to impress this season although it's disappointing they have not been including in the tour.

As much as he is a legend and I love the guy, I stopped believing a word Fergie said a long time ago, way before he "wouldn't sell Madrid a virus".

since when has Nasri been a "big name"?

I'm very happy we are not signing... he does not fit in with what we need.

We are in a generation where world class Midfielders are few and far between... and unfortunately, most are, or will be playing for Barca next season and wont be going anywhere, anytime soon.

I think Fergie will sign a cm just might take his time and not rush it. Gibson is surely leaving as he hasnt even travelled on tour and please god i hope he leaves. I will be soooo annoyed if we do not sign a cm as we have just weakened the side if we dont. People saying we do not need to sign a midfielder are 100% deluded our centre mids are terrible compared to arsenal, city, chelsea even liverpool have better.

I get to a fair few of the reserve games and i just don't see it. Can see him making a decent career at a Championship club
-------------------------

I don't think his style of play suits the Championship at all. He is extremely relaxed on the ball and when I saw him for the first time it was quite amazing what I was seeing from a player of his age and setting.

He has this incredible ability of varying the tempo at which the game was being played at (bringing it to a standstill at times), whereas players like Tunnicliffe were far more predictable and direct (this was the style that I have been used to whenever I have managed to catch the reserves in the past).

Whether he makes it or not at the highest level depends on many things, but at this moment in time I don't think his style and manner with which he plays the game would suggest a Championship player. To be fair it doesn't even suggest your typical Premiership midfielder. Plays like a foreign import (and a good one for his age- note good, not great ; there is only so much you can garner from youth team exploits).

Pogba isn't ready. Morrison is a pleb and Tunnicliffe's gone to Peterborough on loan

Despite being a pleb, I think he may make the breakthrough first.

I'm looking forward to seeing a fully fit Anderson/Carrick partnership next season playing like they did in the 7-1 Blackburn win, 5-0 Brum win, Arsenal 1-0 win and Sunderland 2-0 win last season.
