Probably comes as no big surprise: he is a quality player and perhaps deserves to be measured against the best League teams in the world. He has already conquered SL, and helped Wigan build for the future. So I think it is only right that he faces new challenges in the NRL.
I would rather see his talents head south rather than any thought of switching codes. League needs players like Tomkins, and if the NRL is his chosen future, then so be it.
Tomkins on his way to the NRL ... maybe

I think he should give it a go. He has such much talent that he wouldn't struggle. He would be a sensation over there. Go on Sam give it a go.

Wigan are in good hands, and have a very good future ahead, especially with Charnley.
Plus, I always think its good for English players to join the NRL for a change. I think James Graham is doing a decent job at the Bulldogs; so I'm pretty sure Tomkins will do the same, should he decide to move down under.

good move at least it keeps a class England player in the sport rather than wasting his talent in union

It's a good time for quality players to venture south with all the NRL clubs getting a boost in funds next season with the negotiations of t.v rights happening as we speak......Tompkins would be right at home at South's sharing a pint we the Burgess bro's.
