As much as rate Ronaldo. I think he offers a team very little apart from goals. He is incapable of switching up his play. Can't roam around or sit back setting up team mates consistently.
Hasn't got the vision.
Don't get me wrong he's a good player. But he's just a goal machine. And a glorious athlete. Nothing else. A fast poacher really.
And it's laughable when people compare him to Messi. Messi is already among the greats, talent and ability wise.
While there are more talented players around than Ronaldo. That's the difference.
I can mention players a few years back that were better than Ronaldo now e.g Kaka, Henry, etc. Can't with Messi.

The stangest thing about this thread is the use of the name Ronaldo and word wise in the same sentence. They are certainly not words I think go together.

Fat Ronaldo didn't offer much either as a creator, at least compared to his devastating qualities as a pure number 9. The only player in my lifetime I rate above CR7 is Messi. Much as I loathe the guy's preening and strutting and posturing, he's one devastating force.

Quite a few decent passes from a player who, as you say, did not offer much as a creator.
He was as complete a striker as it gets, but because of his exceptional goalscoring record and skills, his passing gets overlooked a bit.
