What doe everyone think of the competition expanding from 16 to 24 teams?
I believe there are no 6 groups of 4 and the top 2 will qualify along with the 4 best third place in groups, and they go into a round of the last 16. Is it me or does this seem a little bit excessive?
After the first round only 8 teams will go out, which to me out of 24 seems very little. In my opinion they should keep it how it is as i think it is a very good format with a very high quality calibre of competitors.
Are they ruining an already high quality competition or does everyone think this will be a good thing?

Coming from a small country this is great news, as we might have a chance even to get to the tournament!

And i was going to mention the 2020 idea, its great when one country has it, the idea of spreading across 20 cities in europe is just plain stupid in my opinion.

Thats an insane idea! Proof football is no longer about what happens on the pitch just how much money it can generate of it.

i mean, the bet these euros would have done wonders for poland and ukraine and platini wants to take those kind of legacies away from hosts

More teams would be better. I would have liked to have seen Turkey, Belgium, Norway, Romania & Bulgaria for starters. Not to mention lesser countries like Slovakia (who had a good world cup), Scotland, Slovenia who can all produce upsets on their days.

so if Slovenia where playing Bulgaria you would like to watch that? Where at the same stage in this tournament you could watch Holland, Germany and Portugal play each other.

I'd like there to be more games also as there are a lot of good teams who missed out. More teams means more football and I'm certainly happy with that. Also it gives my country more of a chance.

It would reduce the possibility of "groups of death" so in theory you would have more teams in the knock out phase, some of them being good teams that would have lost out on GD in the current format.
Would make the knock phase better possibly?

24 teams and only 8 go out after 36 group games.....utterly pointless....it will be like the Europa League were half the teams are sheyte and the thing goes on forever.

to be fair though this format will help the lesser nations i.e England improve with more of a chance to qualify to the Euros and having to play great strong teams like Norway and Latvia!!
Oh and also the different city ideas is only for the 2020 Euros because UEFA dont like the other choices apart from Turkey who may pull out of hosting for the olympics.
