Key Signings

Let's assume Mr Hasawi takes control of the club and we have funds...

We are clearly in need of new players, our dwindling squad is looking very weak (although some good quality).

What signings should we make thay will be key to our season?

Higginbotham - Must buy - will add leadership and steal into defense. Would be a good captain

Lynch - practically a free agent now, would like to see him offered a contract (obviously wasn't impressed with the original offer)

Elokobi - Looked like he enjoyed his stay with Forest last season, I would welcome him back. He gave his all, and although I don't not think he is the best LB we could buy, he would certainly have the right attitude

Shorey - A free agent once again. Could we afford him? Not sure. would we want him? Definately.

Guedioura - MUST BUY - Need I say more?

We also require a left and right winger, as well as a 20 goal striker - not sure who we could realistically get though.... :\ Suggestions?

So we sign players that couldn't get us up before? Time to move on I say.

I'd really like this to be a fresh start. Some fans seem very scared of change. Which is odd when you think the last decade has been a very poor one.

I'd take Guedioura because he's a bit special. But I doubt we'd get him.

I always find these articles hard to comment on. Who much have we got? How much would other clubs want? Who else is interested? I never know what to say?

I think it's assumed that if we were to stregnthen we'd need funds between 6-10 million. Very thin squad.

Easiest thing, draw up your transfer wishlist. It doesn't mean we get any of them, or that they would want to come - although keep it realistic, Messi wont come until we get promoted

I'd have Higginbotham and Guedioura back in a second as they both looked a class above this level. Add another centre half and a striker for starters. Everyone seems to be clamouring for Rhodes from Huddersfield but he was let go for nothing from Ipswich, I'm not convinced.

THE single most important decision with regards to signings has and always will be the manager!!! A good manager makes average players think they can beat anyone. They instill respect, confidence and belief. Any organisation reflects the man in charge. We must make the right choice with regards to the manager. Everything else will then fall into place.

Cotts....
I'm just not sure. Would I be gutted if he got a go at this .... No.

I just don't want the surge of excitement, expectation. Not to mention the initial influx of cash, to be wasted. Or more accurately, any momentum lost.
