"Hoffenheim midfield maestro Gylfi Sigurdsson has confirmed that he will be joining Tottenham Hotspur after deciding against the chance to link up with former manager Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool. Sigurdsson played under Rodgers during a loan spell at Swansea City last season and was poised to make a permanent move to the Welsh side but the managerial changes forced him into considering alternative options.

After weeks of being linked to the Reds the Icelandic international has instead decided to move to White Hart Lane, citing "hotspots of clinical products at affordable prices" as the main reason. The 22-year-old had previously played down reports that the transfer was financially motivated but conceded that the prices of crack in the North had risen and could potentially affect his long-term pipe habit.

More recently the youngster has dabbled in speedballing and believes that he can become one of the most successful dabblers in the game, following in the path of Andy Booth, Ritchie Humphreys and Chris Armstrong."
