** RULES ** 2015-16 King of Pundits

RULES

1. Every participant will receive an opening balance of 100 credits.

2. People can start participating at any time during the season, and will receive their 100 credit opening balance as soon as they place their first prediction(s). Bonus predictions will not be deducted until the result is settled, so people can predict as many as they want without using the opening 100 credits.

3. The season will be split into 40 weeks . Each will will run from Friday to Thursday. Week 1 will start on Friday 7th August 2015 and week 40 will start on Friday 13th May 2016.

4. The following competitions will be included for Prediction purposes :
Premier League
Championship
FA Cup
League Cup
Europa League
Champions League
Internationals (only when no Prem or Championship matches)
Every so often, a match or two from other Leagues around Europe will be thrown in.

5. Each week a minimum of 10 fixtures will be selected for people to predict on. Fixture will be published 1 or 2 weeks in advance to give everyone plenty of time to decide and make their predictions. Some weeks there will be extra matches (e.g. midweek program, League Cup, FA Cup, CL and Europe League).

6. People can predict on as many or few of the chosen fixtures as they want. Each prediction will count as 2 credit. So if you make a prediction on all ten matches your balance will be deducted 20 credits, down to 0 predictions.

7. Exact score - 10 credits (plus stake returned)
Correct result and correct margin - 5 credits (plus stake returned)
Correct result - 3 credits (plus stake returned)
Incorrect result - loss of stake.

8. As well as the individual match predictions, there will be a 4 weekly league table for most points in the 4 week period, with the following bonus credits :
Top +20 credits (£10 prize as well)
2nd-5th +10 credits
5th-10th +5 credits

9. As the competition evolves, there will be a number of extra bonus opportunities. Suggestions and feedback will be considered when deciding what form these extra bonuses should take. Bonus credits will be deducted up front (except the season bonus predictions).

10. In the event of a match being postponed or abandoned, the credit will be returned, and the match will appear later on in the week it is replayed.

11. Any Cup games that are put up for prediction purposes, requires the score at 90 minutes. ET and Penalties will not count.

12. IMPORTANT - If any participant's account is placed under moderation for ANY reason (however unjust) your entry to the competition is forfeited as are all points accrued.

13. In the event that 2 or more people are tied in the top 3, the prizes will be shared equally.

14. In Week 12, Christmas, New Year and Easter there will be a DOUBLE stake round. All Cup Finals will also be DOUBLE stake.

FA Cup Style Knockout

1. This is a new addition to this years competition as there is an extra £50 prize money. This mini-competition will start on FA Cup 3rd Round Weekend (Week 23).

2. The top 64 people with the most predictions will be automatically entered into this Knockout Format competition. Some of these 64 people will probably have stopped predicting, so some people will get a bye by default.

3. The draw will be made from a hat at random. Depending on the number of active players, the first round may include byes so that I can ensure the second round has the correct number of participants.

4. Each round will coincide with the FA Cup weekends. Whatever fixtures are posted on those weekends will determine the result. You just predict as normal as your weekly tally will still contribute to the main competition.

5. In the event of a draw, there will be a replay using the following weeks fixtures. This will continue until a winner is decided.

6. In the event that predictions are copied in a blatant attempt to gain a draw (yes, it would be a bit pointless ), the person will be disqualified.

7. If both players don't predict, then a BYE will be entered into the next round draw.

RVPM - I answered Sheriff on the other thread.

You get 3 points for the incorrect draw and 5 points for the correct draw.

Only get 2 points for wins/losses.

Penshaw - in the case of a dead heat, I pay out on both. This has happened in all 3 years I have done this. Not going to change it as people know this is what I do. Of course, if I was a bookie and paying out of my pocket then I wouldn't do this

This scenario can only happen in the Furthest English category as far as I am aware. If it does happen in the CL groups, then I will pay out on both. The fact they go all the way to the results between teams makes it extremely unlikely.

In the 4 Weekly table, I will pay 20 to all people tied first, so will only pay 10 to less people. The generous Admins also pay the full £10 prize to all people tied.
