Whatever your opinions on AVB, I'm not sure he can be called 'great' for his earlier exploits. 'Good', but certainly not great.
Anyway, I was a little sad to see him go but that was only because he'd failed. I'm not exactly his biggest fan and I've finally got what I wanted (a Chelsea old boy in charge), so have no problem with him going elsewhere!

I dont think its fair to say wither way with AVB, great at Porto, not so great at chelsea (for whatever reasons) ...give him a season and we will see then, im more excited about his signing to us, than i am apprehensive - time will tell

I think he'll get spurs playing great football due to their attacking players, but I'm not so sure he'll be a winner for you defensively. Then again, Levy has said he's going into the market so a speedy new CB may be on the list.
Only time will tell. I'm more interested in what Robbie's going to cook up!

We have Caulker coming back to the team, and he is very quick, and the full backs are no slouches, with Bale and Lennon tracking back, however, you are right we do need either another very smart or very quick central defender

Honestly this is pathetic.
Whatever you think of AVBs time at Chelsea, to suggest he is a bad manager is laughable.
Look at the people who have valued him. He was a protege of Sir Bobby, highly regarded by Mourinho and there are numerous good reasons for why he is regarded on the continent as one of the best taftical minds alive.
Look at all the records he broke with Porto. Yes, winnnig domestically with Porto isnt overly difficult, but to do it whilst breaking the records set by the great Jose, arguably the best manager of all time, and to do it with the flair that he did.....wow
And dont forget he managed to win in the Europa League too, and also managed to get Academica to play their way out of relegation to mid-table, despite them being 7 points below the drop.
Also, his work at Inter cannot be undervalued, nor his first coaching stint at Chelsea.
I dont think he is to blame for what happened at Chelsea as manager, but I understand why some do. But that doesnt make him a bad manager, to suggest so insults your intelligence.
I think his reign at Chelsea will be rembered some day in a similar fashion to Brian Clough's reign at Leeds. it didnt work out, for whatever reason, but it did not affect how he is regarded.

And you’re clearly getting your information from google.
Did you ever get to go to a game while he was in charge?.
At Chelsea he was tactically inept and had us defending far too high up the pitch. You say he excelled at Porto really?... He won a 2 team league and won the Europa with the strongest squad in the competition bar maybe City, who I might add had no experience at that level. He is so slow to react, so slow he often doesn't even react at all. During games where it was clearly going wrong he had no plan B, nothing at all.
You may want to have children with him , but some of us don’t.
Now do one and stop acting like a
