Andy Carroll!

This is a pretty big year for this lad as a a Liverpool player. I don' believe the talk of him leaving or Rodgers not using him (Rodgers at times used a target man at swansea in Graham).

He needs to hit the ground running and I'm hoping we can see more of the player over the euros and the last couple of months of the season as i thought at times he was excellent. I think he can have a very good year, we know he will never be a 35 million player so we have to forget about the price tag for him. I would like to see a natural progression, so as he scored 6 leave goals last season, i would to see him at least double that if he continues the form he was in at the end of the season.

what does everyone else think?

If he gives everything like he did in the home game against Chelsea, then I'm happy with that. He was superb that night and terry & Ivanovic didn't know what was going on. The fact that he was occupying the defence allowed other players to do the damage!

If he is to play as central striker then we should be aiming higher than 12 goals. My target would be at least 16 goals. His confidence is high now that he know's he is an England striker and a fully fit Gerrard with 1 new wide man and attacking midfielder should give him the chances to score more.

If Carroll plays regular first team football, I would be disappointed with a return of 12 goals. He needs to set his target higher than that if he is to fulfil his potential with Liverpool.

A very mobile midfield is all Carroll needs

Carroll will have to work on his touch and vision, which are not his natural strengths, because there will not be too much long ball by LFC this season.

At Swansea he had 2 wide players who worked hard in the midfield too, 1 striker with normally 1 behind (Sig) who also worked hard to press in the midfield.

In that formation, not sure if Carroll fits the bill as the stiker as it would force Suarez out wide and burden him with a lot of hard work.

IMO to get the best out of Carroll you are better building around him and playing to his strengths. Not sure that will work for LFC who will be far more dynamic. Carroll is a very decent player but better suited to a smaller club not because of his ability but because they are more likely to play a style that will suit Carroll and get the most out of him.

If you look across Europe there are few who now play with that target man approach and those who do have exceptional players like Drogba, Ibrahimovich who offer much more than just their physical prowess.

Carroll's a throw back, an old fashioned No. 9, who's only real threat comes from his aerial prowess.

He's not an instinctive finisher & he's got the touch of a rapist, I'll be amazed if he scores 15+ in Rodgers Liverpool side.

Yeah, we've offered a packet of crisps. BR is apparently giving the offer serious consideration.
