I reckon they'd give Liverpool a game

(confession: I made the exact same gag last year: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A73465888)

Anyways, according to the article, some experts are fairly confident that by 2050 a robot team will be capable of beating the human World Cup winners. What do you reckon?

Could we even see the line between man and machine blurred? There are serious academic discussions going on about 'bioethics' - as scientific breakthroughs improve athletes' performance where do we draw the line. What will be the equivalent of steroids in the future and what just an energy drink?

Maybe we'll see it go further than just biology, maybe we'll see cyborgs. The paralympic runner Oscar Pistorius has faced opposition to his attempts to compete against able-bodied people because some say his blades actually give him an advantage.

So, man versus machine or man combined with machine - either way, sport could be pretty interesting in a couple of decades time.

Part wolf - part Messi - part washing machine - part Rebekah Brooks? Terrifying!

Seriously, if you can't distinguish between bile and gentle ribbing, I feel for you and your paranoid existence.

In future, I'll try and restrict my communications with you to smilies.

If Pele had anything to do with that comment add another 28 years on that, like his an African country World Cup dross.
