1. They will have been given a punishment for all the things they have done, ebts, tax evasion the lot.
2. They will not have jumped the queue and been put into the 1st division which would be unfair on the other clubs in leagues 2 and 3 who strive to get into that league.
3. Rangers fans will go to these stadiums and fill them most weeks and give revenue to the clubs, allowing improvements for youth set ups, stadiums and playing staff. This will continue in the 2nd and 1st division as promotions take place.
4. Smaller teams would get 2 trips to ibrox a season, allowing their fans to attend the 2nd biggest football ground in scotland. This would help improve smaller teams fan bases being an exciting occaision.
5. For the next 3 or 4 seasons, there will be an oppurtunity for a team outwith the old firm to finish 2nd or 3rd in the league, with a higher chance of winning a cup, and therefore get champions league or europa league football: again boosting player buys, revenue excitement for fans and therefore fan numbers.
6. The increased prospects of entering europe for dundee utd, st johnstone, hearts, motherwell etc will allow them to attract far better players.
7. playing in europe and an added competetive element in the spl (aside from celtic) would allow scottish players to improve.
8. The young scottish players at rangers will play 30-40 games a season, for 3 or 4 years against competitive opposition (the rangers youths (16/17 yrs) are probably on par with 3rd division teams and as they are promoted will improve with age and experience to 2nd division, then 1st division, the spl, by which time they will be 20/21 and have played 100 odd professional games).
The only possible downside is that it will possibly render other clubs chances of promotion in a league containing rangers impossible. Revenues will be decreased for the weaker spl sides but its up to them to compete and aim for the 2nd or 3rd slot.
And the fact that celtic are garunteed the title and the champions league money for 4 or 5 years and may become too strong and experienced (as long as lennon and a core of the stars do not leave.
How can it be a bad thing?
