I already mentioned to Paul on Facebook that it's the fact we need to bring in another squad player. He has really been no more than a squad player under Dougie, but you still need squad players at all levels. Will Dougie buy to replace him with someone better or will he promote another youngster to the squad and hope he can play at Champ level that we'll have to wait and see.
I think Scannell leaving has dissapointed fans because Gardner has left and Clyne will probably still move on and we have bought in Ward & Martin(loanee) to basicly replace the former. If we replace Scanell with 32 year old Wilbraham (rumoured) then i would not be best pleased.

So, we've (Dougie Freedman) has got rid of a 21 year old in Sean Scannell, & brought in 32 year old Wilbo! GENIUS!!!

Whilst I am not outside SP celebrating this arrival I called out Scannell going a few weeks back and was not too suprised we sold him. He was just injury prone and didn't suit our system. Shame though seemed like a nice guy. Reckon this guy will play in the Iversen kind of role of holding up play- be interesting to see if he can link up with Murray as we could be pretty dangerous in the air but with our midfield ideally we want the ball on the deck.

Gardener was also a mercenary- he only signed with us as he couldn't get a better deal else where if you recall- having said that he was immense!

I think it's fair we are all watching the McCorrmack scenario with baited breath!

Wilbraham is signed because of his experience. I think he plays just behind the striker? I heard Norwich used him to set up plays. This does sound encouraging but wasn't that the same thing they said about Chris Martin? Hopefully he can be that link between midfield and Murray.

As for Gardner everyone knows he will go to whoever offers the most money. Last season he waited until the last minute to join us and I don't think that was going to happen again. He was a good player but getting too injury prone. Was a good player and did the business when needed but it's time to replace him with a new young CB to take us forward. Next year Paddy's contract runs out. He might go?

Is McCormack actually happening? Dougie said it was far-fetched but then I hear we've already signed him?

Hopefully we sign a midfielder

I still stand by what i said about Wilbraham, i know all teams need experience but haven't we already got players
with experience.
Obviously all new players need to be judged on performances so we will have to wait & see.
Hoping for a few more signings personally.

Thats what I like to see, real positive attitudes about new signings before they've even kicked a ball.

GIVE THE GUY A CHANCE before you blow him out.

er - good luck - he's a marmite player - you'll either love him or hate him. Frankly I was gobsmacked we (mk dons) managed to get Norwich to take him off our hands - although he played a few games in the premier league, no way is he of good enough caliber. Our team became much stronger having let him go.

I dont think he did much for Norwich when they were in the championship btw

Still good luck for the coming season

Thanks for the heads-up Moocampdon.
The Iversen role is largely ineffectual or spent on the injury table, but as said by Bilko, we have to give the bloke a chance I suppose.
I remember reading imput from other fans regarding our purchases of Martin and Easter and I would say they were pretty accurate so expect the appraisal given by Moocamp will be fair.
At the moment and not too long before we get going again, I don't see that we have improved any.
We are also light in terms of Popovic and Kember leaving. Not sure we have brought in better than what has left/will leave either. We also have some dead wood on board still.
The McCormack 'will he-won't he' saga continues as well and this could be a good bit of business if it comes off.
I hope Dougie is formulating a masterplan. He needs to.
