I'm guessing that Kean is right now in his lovely mortgaged £500,000 home sitting with a smug grin on his face thinking he has done the business, literally and proverbially - where strengthening his squad is concerned, appeasing the Rovers supporters or rewarding himself with a 'spiked' drink.
Well, that only being a scornful assumption, it is irrelevant whether he is or he isn't, but the facts are that he has signed a 36-year old former Portuguese international, a 35-year old bang-and-the-dirt-is-gone English midfielder, an unknown 19-year old 'starlet' and a 25-year old that you could argue has hit the point where he has no room to improve on what hasn't exactly been a blinding career by any margin.
So what are you on about Dusty? Well, I want to know if you are indeed appeased with the signings so far?
Dare I say it - in Kean's defence he has brought to the squad two VERY experienced players in Gomes and Murphy who should in theory help to maintain the entire teams' composure right across the park. They might still function effectively, but like old rechargeable batteries they lose their cells and don't do the same for as long as they used to.
The signing of Leon Best could turn out to be a superb move IF (and big if) he finds the quality that 'they' all promised when he was coming through the system. There are and have been better strikers ahead of him at Newcastle for years in fairness but that shouldn't discourage someone from trying to get to the top of their game. He certainly hasn't.
As for the young lad Nunes, well, nothing much to say on that one because I haven't got a clue but maybe just maybe he can be a touch of class.
I remember a similar hype for Rochina and Formica though - look where that got us all.
I open the floor to all debate regarding our signings, how they are supposed to benefit our team and perhaps a silly question but does Kean seem to have bucked his ideas up this time?
Two 'has-bins', an unknown and another...

No he hasn't.

==================================
It got us two talented players who were mis-used. They'll come god as soon a they play regularly in their proper positions.

You say that, but they haven't been used and probably won't be. I'll share your optimism when it happens.

It's not optimism, though. I don't expect them to be used properly under Ken and so they'll probably come good as soon as they leave.

Which'll of course be no good to us.
I wasn't originally blaming the hype on the fans by the way. I was blaming how they were introduced by the Marvel-Man himself about how awesome they apparently were. Then he went and completely under-utilised them.

Given the lack of transparency over our transfer dealings, it could be possible that signings like Formica and Vukcevic were forced on Kean, much like Ribeiro appears to have been. That could explain the hype and subsequent under-use.

A good idea bringing in experienced players, the likes of Diouf, Emerton, Salgado, Nelsen and Salgado were all much too naive!
