We don't necessarily need a creative midfielder in the mould of Cesc but we certainly need someone who can score goals and join attacks from the midfield, and no, that person isn't Ramsey.
I expect the team next season to be:
Szczesny
Sagna
Koscielny
Vermaelen
Gibbs
Arteta
Wilshere
Song
Walcott
Giroud
Podolski
Now I do think this team has goals in it because Podolski and Giroud are both great goalscorers and I expect and hope with a decent run in the team they can get 15 and 20 goals respectively. You would also expect Theo to stump up his standard 10 - 15 goals a season providing he stays but I think what we're missing is a midfielder who'll get us 10 goals and 10 assists. I think that's all we're missing in the search for a really strong team for next season. Let's all get over the fact that RvP isn't the man we thought he was and boot him out of the door and move on with our strengthening process. Hopefully the Usmanov letter will spur the board into instantly reinvesting the money gained from the RvP sale where we need it.
We don't need M'Villa. We have Song, Wilshere and Arteta who are all quality players and a combination of 2 of the 3 will be more than enough cover in defence. We only really struggled to shield the back 4 last season when it was only Song playing. We will also have Coquelin pushing for a starting place next season and hopefully Frimpong if he decides to ditch his moronic mate Lethal Bizzle and decide to become a celebrity for his football rather than his empty mindedness and stupid catch phrases.
In summary RvP is a quality player but we may benefit from losing him. After all he is a scorer of great goals rather than a great goal scorer and although that got us out of the woods a lot last season a more natural finisher may have scored many of the more simple chances he missed. The team will benefit from not having a superstar and will probably learn to play as more of a team and we'll hopefully see some of the under achievers such as Gervinho and Chamakh come out of their shell and come out of RvP's giant shadow.
We need an attacking midfielder

Goetze would fit like a glove. But that's a pipe dream. I'd love Sahin, especially when I see his name linked with the likes of Spurs and Lpool, but he seems Hell bent on staying at Madrid. Belhanda could be a tasty number as well/. Although realistically, if Wenger does go for a midfielder it'll most likely be more of a ballwinner...

Goetze should be a target we go all out for. We need that special player in the squad. It'd really shake things up and completely change everyone's outlook on the club.

A ball winner would be such a strange investment. We don't currently have a midfielder who can support the attackers and get a few goals. Would rather take the £20m or so for the M'Villa transfer and buy someone worthwhile.

The trouble is that we will be without Song when he goes to ACON and Frimpong will probably be loaned again if he regains fitness.
Coquelin, who I think is actually our best prospect out of all our players, senior and youth, isn't quite ready yet.

I have to say, I usually don't watch German footballl but just the idea of watching him play with Reus......
God, Dortmund will be good to watch next season!

Dortmund are now what we were back in 07/08. Fantastic team
But yes, I'd be over the moon if we got Goetze.

I'd be so proud of us if we responded to this RvP malarky by just going all out to buy someone big like Gotze, Hamsik or Sneijder. Just to show we're still a big club and RvP's cr@p about lack of ambition was to mask his greed.

He's a fantastic squad player, but unless he steps up his game several notches, he can't replace the RVP-shaped hole in regards to creative play.
We also cannot rely on his fitness having aggravated an injury at the Euros.

Rosicky is a fantastic little player and he's a dynamo in the midfield but I'd rather put money on Adrian Chiles winning a beauty pageant than put money on him getting 10 goals and 10 assists in a season.
