Britains Finest Vs some old Swiss Bloke

We have been here before..

USO08, AO10 and now W12. A harder one to call this time.. If Fed can keep the level he has shown in disposing of Misha and Djokovic, there will be only one winner.

Murray is better than he was 2 years ago but I stil don't fancy his chances if it gets really tight. He will go back into his shell methinks. Leopards and Spots. Fed continues to defy the naysayers, past it, too old, can't sustain it over 5 etc. all complete rubbish of course and here he is and looking pretty good.

Pete Sampras in USO02 Vs Roddick, Agassi Down Under. It can be done in your early 30's. You can bet Annacone will have drummed this into Fed over the last few days..

I also think deep down this may be his last chance and he will throw the kitchen sink at Murray on Sunday. Plus the pressure will all be on the Scotsman too. Tin Hats on..The hype and Press are about to go into overdrive..I wish I was still abroad!

One this is for sure, the commentary on Sunday - Castle et al will be so biased it won't be true. If only Rafa was still here for some commentary balance...Castle can barely contain himself when the Spaniard is playing.

So who to win. As he is British, I should go for Murray, all the history etc and Fred Perry would all be swept away in the blink of an eye and I would be happy to see him do it. But it's Fed I would like to see hoist the old Gold Pot, just one last time for his 17th Slam where it all began.

Who would you want to see hoist the trophy on Sunday afternoon?

It wasn't worth its own thread...

The truth is that murray hasn't played anybody of note yet thanks to the early departure of Nadal.

The chasm between Fed, Nad and djoc in tennis's top group and the likes of murray at the lower level is too great a gap to bridge.

If it rains then Murray's chances diminshes but if the roof stays open then andy has every chance to left the coveted trophy.
I want Andy to win but will cherish Fed's win too.

Anyways, despite winning over Novak I'm still not convinced by his current form

Haven't seen the match as I was travelling but based on what I saw in his 5 previous matches I would certainly agree with you.

Can't pretend to be an expert, although I do follow AMs progress beyond Wimbledon.

If Murray can display half the self-belief and resilience that both Federar and Nadal showed in that classic final from a couple of years back, he can leave centre court with his head held high, regardless of the result.

Nevertheless, he needs to break his duck in the grand slam events and this is the place to do it. I do think that a win on Sunday could see Andy , in 7 or 8 years time, looking back on a career with a few majors under his belt.

Good luck to the man anyway. WIsh I had half his talent.

May the best man win. This is far and away the best tennis tournament on the planet, and my 2 favourite players are contesting the final. HAPPY DAYS as a tennis fan.

Look who is back! MCH I know you have filtered me but all those talks of Nadal winning 3 slams. You missed the nadal's ignominous exit in the second round
