I am as excited as the next fan with respect to the prospect of new owners who are reasonably wealthy and who care about football; however, we only need to look down the road to Leicester to learn that money doesn't buy you results (and I read that their owners are still talking about investing a further 100 million, which is far more than the numbers rumoured to be spent by the Al-Hasawi family).
Remember last season, how we jeered and laughed at the Leicester fans who were talking up their Premier league chances. They secured two decent players in every position, and spent heavily on numerous good players at this level, AND, they had a full pre-season together for the most part (i.e. not like Forest who may see new players coming in just a week or two before we kick off).
My point is, we need to be realistic about this coming season. We have no defense right now and that's really where the first four or five signings need to be in my view.
I would be happy with a season of good passing football; players who are committed to the cause; and the possibility of a battle for the play-off spots. We are not even close to the squad that Bolton and Blackburn has; never mind all the other solid teams out there (Wolves, Leics, M'Boro, Cardiff, Blackpool, Charlton, Birmingham, etc). Its a tough league this year.
A bit of perspective.....

Everyone keeps going on about Leicester and the money spent. The reason they didn't go up is they picked the manager. If they'd got a proper NPC manager they'd be in the prem now.

Sutton
THE single most important decision, is the manager. Get that right, everything else will fall into place!

Laugh At Leicester - all the nonsense their bitter fans were giving before the start of last season.
Take heed. It pays to be humble - sometimes.

Could be anything from the next Man City to the next Notts County.
Caution, fellow Trickies...

This due diligence is dragging on a bit.
Is there any truth in the rumour that they started with 'A for Assets' and have encountered a bit of a problem?

Forget us mate. We're about to lose 2/3 of our best players and Steve Kean wouldn't be able to get the 1970 Brazil team out of this league. We'll finish mid-table so one less team to overtake.
