Sorry if this thread has been done already but I just wanted to see what everyone thought would be the best way to fit Kawaga into the first 11, whilst playing Rooney and Welbeck at the same time. I think this might work:
De Gea
Rafael Rio Vidic Evra
Carrick New CM?
Nani Rooney Kawaga
Welbeck
Apparently Kagawa can play on the left of a 4-2-3-1 and I think this can work because of the fluid movement it provides. However, this would leave young and valencia out of the first 11. Thoughts?
Best way to fit Kagawa into first 11

Agree with a lot that you're saying. I think Kagawa hype is seriously undervalued because of the whole Hazard saga. However, in another way I'm glad nobody is spending their time bigging him up as we don't know how he's going to adapt and perform yet.
The only thing I want out of this transfer the most is to reduce the dependency we have on Wayne Rooney. We've been lucky he's not been injured recently for a lengthy period, and we don't play the same when he's out the team.

Spot on The Red Side.
If we bought a decent cm, a midfield 3 of Carrick, new cm and Kagawa would be really tasty. I think we would be in a position to outplay and out pass some of the better midfields that we have struggled against recently.

Kagawa got 17 goals last season so I expect him to score quite a few for us.

How about Rooney playing from the left, coming inside and Kagawa playing through the middle.

Agreed funrob.
Carrick, Modric and Kagawa's ability to retain possession would make that an incredible midfield.
Modric and Kagawa's mobility would help Carrick's passing thrive and Kagawa's mobility would do the same for Modric, whom has a very static VDV ahead of him for Spurs, and in Parker a player not capable of playing possession football, whereas Carrick can - it could vastly improve all players.
Sadly I can't see it happening though.

I like Welbeck, but I don't understand why people would rather have Kagawa on the bench with Welbeck ahead of him.
Rooney is good playing behind Welbeck, but is lack in the creative/playmaking department, which is an area where Kagawa excells. Plus, Rooney is a better goal scorer than Welbeck.
So, we have a player that is a better playmaker than Rooney and player who is a better goal scorer than Welbeck, makes sense to drop Welbeck for our strongest side.
Welbeck being benched doesn't mean he won't get lots of games though. Plus, there's no guarantee he will replicate or improve on last season, see Hernandez.

word for word I agree

interesting thread however do we still think in modern day football that Fergie even has a concept of a "first XI" anyway???
i know fans like to sit down and write 11 players in a formation on paper and declare it our first XI but i would be very surprised if Fergie did that. He just wants a squad with a good blend of players that he can mix and match depending on a number of factors like; injuries, form and opposition.
Therefore im sure Kagawa and Welbeck will get games. Sometimes they will both be in the side, sometimes they wont, and sometimes neither will!!
