A rare evening of European success for two Irish League clubs must surely lift morale within our local and much villified game.
Well done to both Linfield and Portadown, and with Cliftonville in with more than a fighting chance it could turn out to be a superb week.
To achieve this success so early in July is a credit to the players and management of all clubs. Its just a pity Crusaders came up against very strong opponents at such an early stage.
Particular congrats to young goalkeeper Ross Glendinning who has a great future ahead of him and who is destined to play at a higher level in the future
The future for our little League looks that much rosier today, for a change.
That was better

Greeny you must be getting soft in the head.
Although reading about the Glens woes I almost feel sorry for them.
We must be mellowing as we get older

I just heard an advert on the radio for Linfield season tickets. Is that right that juniors get them free?
No more 'Mister, will ya lift us over?'

Free for kids is correct and the only way forward
Wish the feck Bates would think of the young supporters too.
My mate always used that line until I had to point out to him one day that he was 23 and a bit old to be lifted over

Yeah, not a bad idea at all to try and get them hooked young.
Sure Bates hasn't long to go apparently. See that German team that were runners up in the 75 European cup have sold out ALL their games already for next season?

Too close for call against the fishermen Earl. You's wouldn't lived that one down. Well done to your players for holding their nerve in the circumstances, but it must be a long time since the Blues have failed to score against a bunch of duds......oh....
Sensational turnaround for the Mid-Ulster gyppo's, it would be great for the league as a whole if the Reds can make it a hat-trick.
