This free Luka stuff

IMO it's all just friendly banter so hopefully no hard feelings.

Jokes aside, if the quotes attributed to Modric are accurate then he has shown a serious lack of respect to your club and it's supporters.

Even most sensible Arsenal fans deep down don't like what Modric is doing and sadly this kind of thing is becoming more & more common in football nowadays....

From what I've ascertained, Modric has come across as a genuinely good person and Levy as a genuine a-hole.

fair to say you are a bit biased tho..... have you seen the comments modric made a couple of weeks before the end of the season? maybe after you read them you will change your mind on his sudden wanting out...

as i am not convinced that you have the intelligence to navigate your way around the internet I will help you...

“It doesn’t matter if we qualify or don’t qualify for the Champions League, the team will stay together,” said Modric. “We are all thinking positively that we will qualify. No one is thinking of leaving Tottenham. We are happy here. Tottenham are a big club.”

Modric also shares manager Harry Redknapp’s belief that this Tottenham team can win the Premier League. “We can become one of the best teams if we all stay together for a long time,” said Modric. “We are close. We are coming and we have a great future.”

Fair enough. I wasn't aware of those comments and can see why that'd leave a bad taste.

All in all though, I think that fans turn too quickly on players who seek greener pastures and being an Arsenal fan, am exceptionally qualified to comment.

As Coyle said when he left Burnley for Bolton, you either move on or get moved on in football. As fans we're all too happy to round up on players we dislike and who we want rid of, yet then round on players for having the temerity to want to leave.

Also, wasn't Modric's outburst really a direct reply to Levy?

Modric is under a 6 year contract. Players forget that a contract works both ways. If he were to get injured playing for Croatia... and barely played for us at all we are under contract to pay him his money. I bet he wouldnt be complaining then.. whilst the club would be hating it.. but still obligated to pay it.

But now Modric is in good health he feels that the contract is no longer of issue to him, despite it being broken would in a sense injure the club.. if you see what i am getting at.

basically modric is complaining that Levy has broken an agreement that would allow modric to break his agreement with the club (the contract)

the little rat was part of a team that led us on a run of 2 wins in 13 games at the tail end of last season, and would be well advised to shut up before he finds out that levy is serious and he will watch his career be flushed down the toilet

So, his signing this agreement with the club was dependent on the gentleman's agreeement he had with Levy? In other words, he mightn't have signed if he'd suspected Levy would renege.

I see the same anger at Arsenal over Nasri and it perplexes me. I try to put myself in their shoes and it's hard not to understand why they might want out. They're both foreign and have no allegiance to either club. They stand to win more silverware as well as making considerable more money elsewhere. From their p'sov, it's perfectly understandable. It's only when wearing the club-colour tinted shades, that I become outraged at Nasri.

And that comment about Levy only serves to increase my suspicion that he's an a-hole.
