Another season of defensive cockups.

With the reappointment of Liam 'Massive Liability cos I panic everytime the ball is near' Fontaine as club captain we can look forward to more problems at the back, Cunningham for all he looks good is still learning and therefore likely to sometimes need help something Fontaine was totally unable to offer to whoever played at LB last season.
I'm sorry to say that he's only fair as a defender and as a captain he shows all the charismatic qualities of a dead cod and if this is the reason that DM has not followed up his interest in McManus then we hadn't hold our breath for much improvement in the coming season.
I had thought that when DM arrived he had managed to get Fontaine playing better because for about 6 weeks he showed great improvement however it didn't last and by the end of the season he was playing the same 'brown stuff' as before.
Plus as for leading on the pitch he couldn't lead a wet tart to a dry bed. For the first time in years I am getting worried about the team before a ball has been kicked usually I am optimistic but I just can't see any good coming from this unless Fontaine manages to do something he hasn't managed up til now and thats have a consistant season, playing well for a few games a season just won't cut it at championship level specially if he is supposed to be motivating the other players as well, how can anyone expect to encourage other players to play well when you yourself are the usual weak link.
Morris, Elliott or Stead would have been a far better choice for captain, Elliott would have been my first choice as he almost always makes players about him play better.
I realise this probably won't make me too popular with some other contributors but IMHO this is a massive mistake and I pray the club does not suffer because of it.
Feeling quite depressed about this season.
