I loved watching the hardcore matches of old.
Ok, you'd usually have the same 4 or 5 guys going for the hardcore title but the matches were always different.
Al Snow was always involved and so was Crash Holly (RIP)
Who remembers when they made the Hardcore title 24/7? It was bonkers and hilarious. For some reason, The hardcore champ would be walking past a childrens ball pool for example dressed in full ring attire only to be attacked by a fellow wrestler. Why the hell would the wrestlers go past ball pools or bouncy castles
if I remember correctly, someone tried to pin the champion when he was asleep
Some good memories

Good memories, but it devalued the title to the point were it was worthless.
If they ever brought it back, it has to be without the 24/7 rule. Maybe making it a title defended only at Pay Per View as the opening match?

I wouldnt say it devalued the title per se because people like taker and kane held it towards the end.. but more so the previous champion if he'd lost it in a jobby way... I agree the title should nit be 24/7 if it came back. It'd be a step back for the title tbh

If you look at the timescale the title was around in, and the number of times it changed hands it definitely had very little prestige at the end

I'd certainly trade a 24/7 hardcore title over, say, Santino
