Our fastest and slowest players.

After seeing Kamran's debate on the other article I thought it'd be good for everyone to name our 5 fastest and 5 slowest players in their opinions. See if we more or less think the same.

Five fastest:

Walcott
Gervinho
Ox
Koscielny
Park Chu Young (as legend tells)

Five slowest:

Mertesacker
Squillaci
Song
Chamakh
Ramsey (not sure if he's slow or just lazy)

He's faster than Koscielny, Gibbs and Vermaelen Rev.

Think Vermaelen is very fast too, seem to remember a couple of seasons ago he completely outstripped Agbonlahor, anyone else remember that?

Sol Campbell matched Bale for pace during his second stint with us. Make of that what you will.

I don't think Gervinho is particularly fast, he's got decent acceleration but his top speed isn't great at least that's what I've noticed when balls have been played through for him to chase. Anyone else notice that?

I kind of know what you're saying, but whenever a team has pushed for a high line, he has been more than happy to punish them.
The Zambia coach specifically warned his defence against Gervinho's pace in the ACN final, most likely after seeing his goal the previous round.

Walcott and Miyaichi are definitely the fastest, followed probably by Gervinho, Chamberlain, and Koscielny, who I saw comfortably get to a through ball ahead of Nathan Dyer in what looked like a pretty evenly matched contest.

Djourou, Vermaelen is very fast, and I think this is the moment you're referring to:

I don't think he really outpaced him, but he did enough to get his body in between Agbonlahor and the ball.

Rosicky deserves an honorable mention, I think; his pace gave Chelsea some real problems in our last match against them.

Rosicky has some lightning acceleration in all fairness.

I think Koscielny is faster than Chamberlain and Gervinho. Kos really is rapid.

It's all relative. There is pace, acceleration, stamina and other variables all involved. If you want to know who is fastest than you cannot tell always simply from watching a match - all players would need to do the 100m at the start of training. In terms of raw acceleration - Walcott, Gervinho/Chamberlain/Miyaichi, Gibbs/Sagna, Podolski is pretty quick too. Not going to include Vela as he's off soon no doubt. Those are the quickest in my opinion. Koscielny/Vermaelen may be nifty center-backs but they are not as quick as the above aforementioned.

Kossy is pretty quick, I remember him comfortably beating Torres for pace in his first game, back when Torres was at Liverpool and actually had some pace...
