I have never doubted Fed will last long on the tour.
It was just a matter of how he was going to survive painful media hassling him all the time.
Now that's he's on this Wimbledon and broken Pete's record (and what a record it is!), all tennis fans can lie back and enjoy his beautiful tennis as long as his desire to get out of the bed and hist the treadmill every day lasts.

Jonty, when Fed lost his ranking to Nadal and slipped to no. 3, I changed my signature to Fed to be no. 1 again and a lot of posters laughed at me. Even before the start of 2012 the gap was nearly 3000 points or more but Fed has done it. He is the greatest.

TMF, I didn't think he had it in him but I think with Nadal going out so early this Wimbledon it brings home how incredible Federer is to have avoided such a mishap for so many years, what a sign of a great player.

Proof without doubt that he is the GOAT.
