Joe Allan Close?

Anybody look at the Liverpool Rumours website?

According to a poster called Macca we are close to agreeing a deal with Swansea.

This Macca seems to be pretty spot on with his info according to other posters.

McAteer? Mcmanamanamanan? or McMade up?

If the player puts forward a transfer request, then maybe yes, but I don't see it happening.

At the moment I would rather have Rodgers take a look at Aquilani, Cole, Henderson, Adam..for the hole in midfield, before looking for someone else.

There's no contract between Liverpool and Swansea stating we can't sign any Swansea players. It's a gentlemans agreement between Rogers and Hew Jenkings (Swansea chairman) that we won't poach them.

If the lads up for sale or wants to leave, then Swansea will sell him to the highest bidder.

I don't read much into the 'gentleman's agreement' between Swansea and LFC. If the player wants to move and Liverpool put up the money then he'll sign.

Looking at the comments and spelling from Macca, I would guess it is McAteer (not the brightest tool in the box) If Allen puts a transfer request in, it will be open bidding once again.

You can only bid for our players if another team shows interest first.

But there's nothing official, just a gentlemans agreement!

I'd like to think Rodgers would honour it. Poor form if he didn't.

that's the same thing as official. You don't back out of your word.

I'm not saying that Rodgers would go back on his word, I'm simply saying that there is nothing in writing to prevent us signing a Swansea player.

If Rodgers was to call Jenkins and ask him of Joe Allens availability and he was told a price and was willing to pay that price, it would be perfectly fine!
