Where are you at!????

The last few day have been awfully brilliant. They remind us all of why we love and hate football so much. I had almost convinced myself that McCarthy was a decent enough bloke, a good choice to get us promoted. So what if his tactics were a little archaic at times. He'd be the man to get us up! ..... Noooooooooo!!!!! No matter how much I tried I just couldn't do it. I simply didn't like the idea of him managing my team. I had that similar feeling to kinnear, Atkinson, megson..... Yeah he might do a job for us... But hardly getting me excited..... We are Nottingham forest. We can't and won't accept playing horrible hoofball. That's not me being all high and mighty, we just can't do it.

So, what next?? Hoddle it seems, is about as nailed on to get it as Celtic are to win the one horse race title. Would the thought of him being our manager excite me???...... A bit.... Perhaps. But not a YEAH C'MON sort of feeling.

I watched the news earlier, as they went through the betting. They gave a brief summary relating to each of the candidates.

I have to nail my colours to the mast.

I think it has to be billy.

The one (sometimes untimely) message coming from him. Is that of unfinished business.
I think he has absolute passion for this job.
I think he has a pretty decent record at championship level.
I am confident he will do a good job for us and have us playing good football.
I think we will stand a good chance of promotion within a couple of years with billy at the helm.

Who do you think it should be & why.
Don't just be negative & say who you don't want.

Hollaway. If not then billy. But don't tell SBD!

Billy all the way, he wants this job and he is good at his job, so if he has the most passion out of everyone to want to do well with Forest then lets let him get on with it! He played nice football and was extremely good at his job, able to deflect criticism of the players onto himself to relieve pressure on his players as BC did and ultimately was at the head of most of the greatest displays of the last decade!

Surely it has to be Billy, and I know it sounds Ironic but he will be the one to bring stability back to the club again!

TheLeftPost... at the risk of being dismissed as a wum, don't you think that Billy may be struggling to find employment elsewhere, hence having "unfinished business" at Forest?

MILF ...... Quite possibly!! He does come across as an abrasive little sheeeiiite sometimes. Particularly towards the end of his time at the club. The way he can be so pig headed towards his bosses isn't going to help as well!!

But.... In my opinion, he wants to run the club top to bottom. He always talked about long term contracts for managers, so that they could then have the opportunity to develop the youth team etc. 8 bad results and your out of the door at the moment, so I think that would be a good thing for the stability of the club.

But yes. He is an outspoken, fiery little bûgger. But, most of the time he was spouting off, I did actually agree with him!

TLP - he'll stuggle to find a club he's allowed to run from top to bottom! Stability, I agree, is something sadly lacking at most clubs these days... but I don't think he's too bothered about the opportunity to develop the youth team, in our experience he did the opposite and the academy suffered through lack of investment due to over-focus on the first team - i'm not sure, but I think he may have done similair at Forest too?
