Banned

Morning folks. This is a topic open to everyone and to the admins if they wish to moment.

I love this site and during my summer ban had no intention of going elsewhere or cheating the system and using another name and IP address to still be involved. I took my medicine, offered a sincere apology and did my time without complaining - suerez take note. Being back is great and throughout the ban I still enjoyed reading comments on a daily basis.

What I wanted to discuss is people's experiences of the banning system and whether it's always fair. On our board we have lost some notable posters, some deservedly and some that maybe a short term ban will do them good. However, I have witnessed first hand some pretty accurate content on here from visiting fans and although the posts have been deleted the poster isn't banned. For example, yesterday I complained - something I don't do lightly - about a comment on another board that was blatant racism. Yes it was said to get a laugh but it was laced with hatred for a certain player and aimed at them - Rio. The comment was removed but the poster remains. For me that's wrong. Having come through a ban and benefited from the lesson I think comments like that should be punished. no matter how popular the poster.
