That is really 3 years as has 1 year left so that would take him to 31/32 years of age........

I would not discount this story on three counts:

1.Becker is a director of Bayern and I am sure that
most major clubs would have heard very quickly
through agents if the story was true.

2. There are a two German players at Arsenal and
several Dutch players in Germany including
Robben at Bayern.

3. I believe that whatever VP's wish to leave he would
not wish to put Arsenal in a financially difficult
position. It is possible that this deal has been struck
on understanding that if right offer is made from a
club for which VP wants to play he will be allowed
to go.

If there is any truth in twitter you will certainly have it confirmed tomorrow morning.
