The Job

Poor title I know. When any business (and we are a business) advertises a job they will usually interview a number of people before offering it to someone, it is not often that the first candidate is given the job and the rest told not to bother. The owners never said that Mick McCarthy was their first choice just that he was one of the people they would talk to. Mick apparently said that he was worried about interference and we all assumed it was the Kuwaiti players (all who would need work permits - which are usually only given to players playing for countries in the top 70 in the FIFA rankings, Kuwait are 93rd). Perhaps, having listened to the fans, they told him to buy Guideora a player Mick had allegedly fallen out with hence his loan move (with out re-call) to us. Maybe he was told that we were bringing in a director of football and he disagreed with this - who knows.
As far as we know Mick was the only candidate who has been confirmed, all of the others have been down to media speculation and rumours on Twitter.
