BBC reporting!

This is what the media are saying that Rodgers said ABOUT Carroll:

"Manager Brendan Rodgers says all "worthwhile" offers will be considered."

This is what he actually said:

"Andy will be the same as every other player - if there's ever an offer that comes in we'd look at it as a club and see if it's going to be worthwhile for the club and the team as a whole."

Media does my heads right in!

'Yeah of course how foolish of me, the media have fabricated the entire story about Carroll being available, that's why Rodgers took his opportunity squash it stone dead & put them right today'

No - what they did was suggest that BR specifically said that AC was available as he wanted to sell him, not, as BR suggested, that any player may be for sale if the money and situation is right for the club and the player! Like I say - if you're happy with this manipulation good on ya! I however don't like to be manipulated, whether it's about a Liverpool player, the government or xfactor contestants!!

One word sums that lot up mate - naive.

No idea how old you are but if you genuinely believe what you've written there, then I'd suggest, not very

Tobes, some of ther comments are a bit silly, but the jist of what they say is true. The BBC have reported that we will listem to all worthwhile bids in the region of £20m. WHilst BR intimated that we woudl listen to worthwhile offer for any player, the BBC have made up the £20m bit. They;ve taken what BR has said, which I agree opens the debate that Carroll is for sale, but the £20m and we'll listen to all worthwhile bids is misrepresenting what he actually said.

The irony!

Which bit shouldn't i believe?:
'what they did was suggest that BR specifically said that AC was available as he wanted to sell him' - that is what they are implying - just see the headline.

'as BR suggested, that any player may be for sale if the money and situation is right for the club and the player!' read the DIRECT quote proving this!

'Like I say - if you're happy with this manipulation good on ya! ' Maybe you think this is manipulation of an interview?

'I however don't like to be manipulated, whether it's about a Liverpool player, the government or xfactor contestants!!' Don't se how you can comment on my feels, so you can't mean this bit!

You have read one quote from a conversation that would have been made up of many question and answers and you believe every word/suggestion! You saying i'm naive to NOT believe everything the media tells me and the slant they put on things?!!! If so, more fool you!!

By the way, this suggests I am a grown up, not a child believing everything the media spoon feeds me, so i turn the question back on you - how old are you?!!!

Do you think SAF would come out and say none of his players were for sal at any cost? Considering the Ronaldo fee I doubt it!

Jan - what he didn't say was just as important as what he did say, that was my point.

It's obvious that the lad is in the shop window & for the right price will go.

The £20M that the BBC have put on him appears to be just speculation, but equally could have come from a source within LFC (to set what they consider is his market value in the media) or an agent who knows what sort of figure that LFC are looking for.

If he's still at Anfield come Sept, then it'll be because no-one's come up with the goods. IMO, I think he will go & it'll be to Newcastle to replace Ba for around £16/17M plus maybe some add ons, pure guesswork based on nothing but a hunch.

My view isn't based on one quote from one conversation, it's based on the whole saga & years of watching how these transfer saga's unfold.

Carroll's available for sale, whether you believe it or not, he is, get over it.

'Carroll's available for sale, whether you believe it or not, he is, get over it.'

Errr where have I denied that?! Nothing to get over! BR has been honest to say that ALL players are for sale at the right price! If you want to read into that well done! Maybe it's about Skrtel - have you seen the full transcript of the conversation?!

What makes me laugh is that you think this is unique to transfer sagas. Have you ever thought that managers might say this sort of thing ALL the time but the media pick up on it when it suits? Like the rafa rotation rubbish - happened all the time, but the media felt like jumping on it, so all the non-liverpool fans lapped it up and repeated it as if it was unique!
