Aguero at 40m!!!

if we are to believe todays twitter reports, which i admit probably should be taken with a pinch of salt, we have already lined up deals for jose enrique, adam and friedel(!?). regardless of this i think its fair to assume we are going to bring in a creative cm and a lb for relitivley modest prices, but even with these additions its fairly obvious that we'd still have glaring squad deficencies particualrly in the wings, but also in need of cover at striker and centre half.

Now there is no doubting that Sergio `'Kun' Aguero is an excellent player. Quick skillful and creative; he would be an asset to our team. He would fit in well as a wide forward in a chelsea-esque 4-3-3 alongg side suarez and carrol.

but at the cost of 40m -his release cause- and with huge wages of around 200k a week, (it should be noted that like torres he'd probably take a drop in order to faciliate a move so for arguments sake lets say we'd be shelling out something like 170k a week,), i dont think he'd be anywhere near good value

with the 40m that would be spent on aguero i feel we could go a long way to adressing possibly all four remaining problem areas (2 wingers, backup striker, backuo cb) with these aquisitions (we would not necessarily buy these exact players but we could get players of similar quality for similar prices if for whatever reason any of these deals was unfeasible)

LW Charles Nzogbia age 24 cost 10m, wages 65k
- quick and skillful nzogbia is both good at scoring and creating (combined goals/assists total of 18), he is also excellent in terms of taking on and beating opponents, and according to statistics the top dribbler in the league with 8.8 per game, he would bring much needed pace, balance-left footed! (remeber the balance brought by riera), and good quality delivery to our side. reports of attitude problems have been exagerated; id actually say that before he came to us carrol had a worse reputation as did suarez.
he has also shown a great ability this season to deliver when it really matters and would no doubt want the move (known to be highly ambitious)

RW Aaron Lennon age 23 cost 15m wages 70k
- would bring exceptional pace, good dribbiling, improving delivery and the ability to stretch teams. althought not impressive this season statistically it has to be remembered that hes is providing chances for crouch, defoe and palvychenko who have been the opposite of prolificand no doubt wasted many oppourtunities he ahs given them, the fact that despite having a great season bale isnt anywhere near the top of the assist chart supports this. when lennon is providing for good or atleast on form strikers this changes; he had 12 assists by christmas in the 09/10 season.his pace can really terrorise fullbacks andwould really add another dimension to our attack. He is rumored to have had a fall out with redknap which could help us to bring him in also 70k definatley represtents an increase on what he gets at spurs because of there wage structure.

ST David Goodwillie age 22 cost 2m wages 30k
-promising young striker with lots of potential, has been monitered by us all through out his career. scored 18 goals this season and sinilar amount last year. would be excellent as 4th choice striker to add squad depth. however result of sexual assult case would obvoulsy have an impact on whether we would want this player.

CB Scott Dann age 23 cost 7m wages 50k (have 5k of wages left over, other 45k would come from part of the remaining 13m transfer money)

-excellent young ball playing center half. as birminghams capitulation on his absence showed was vital in there excellent defensive record. pl proven and would most likey want move due to birminghams relegation and the fact that he is a liverpool fan (and former season tcket holder)

The remaining 5m or so would go towards the signing of adam/enrique etc.

whilst aguero is a quality player ( and admit id still be chuffed to bits if we got him) i think this article demenstrates how realistically we could do a lot better with the amount it would cost to bring him in and his wages

any one have an opinion?
