Clark Carlisle BBC Documentary

Hey Fellow Reds, (and the resident City reds)

Hope your all well. Firstly, cannot wait to see our team in action this coming season, more so because of the players we've bought and some of the ones we're still linked with. Would love Modric or Moutinho, but would not say no to Lucas Moura also.

Last season was gut wrenching and I will never forget that scream by the commentator after that kun scored.

But my article is that of that BBC doc about -IS FOOTBALL RACIST?

With all this 'choc ice' stuff, the re-emergance of the Suarez/Evra affair (because the idiot decided to go gobbing off again) - suarez that is, i wanted to know what people thought about that documentary?

It highlighted a number of things, but more so the lack of Asians in our game. Being Indian myself, I've never had aspirations to be a famous footballer but I have seen first hand a number of very talented friends that have not been given trials or given the chance?

Why is this?
What are your thoughts?

Funrob

Caught the back end of a documentary with Michael Johnson last week concerning that topic, they were alluding to a connection with slavery.

The high altitude is a big factor with the Kenyans being so good at long distance running.

I am not funrob, but yes I caught the Michael Johnson documentary. Though it has been a theory (I'd say a fact) for a long time now.

I should have added specifically in football, afterall there are very few Asian managers or chairmen in the game.

No one has answered my question as to why Black men seem to be on average more 'endowed' than others?

Red

We also need to know why on average Asian men seem to be less 'endowed' than others.

I did read somewhere that in the US when black people gained their liberty following the civil war that people created the myth (whether it is a myth or not) that black people were better endowed to invite hostility from other white people.

Cue the tight perm joke.

haha funrob. Perhaps the OP or (or other) can shed light on that?

I did hear that theory too but based on a few calculations and a randomised double-placebo clinically controlled trial, i am reliably informed that it is not a myth

Candidly speaking, i understand the OP's questions and if we are to be brutally honest, racism is endemic in Sport and in all works of life - sadly. Though i dont subscribe to the OP's cack-handed conclusion that SE Asian denizens lack of success is down to 'racism'.

How many black managers in the football leagues again? Tally that with how many black footballers?

Agree with your sentiments but havent we been
waiting a lifetime to see this break through?

I mean as a side note, John Barnes once sacked
waited 8 years for his next job, why?

Why? Because he is a terrible manager. The fact that he's Black has nothing to do with it.

funrob,

kramthered

More white youth players don't make it in football than Asian players. Is that racism?

=================

Well said.

I think this should be looked into & the reason asked why a higher percentage of Asian youths make it, as a ratio.

BusbysBabes,

I was watching some Cops With Cameras programme last night (inbetween adverts) & there was a scene where 2 coppers were arresting 2 males outside a nightclub.

One copper (also a male) had his offender on the floor within seconds, handcuffed & was marching him towards the van. The other copper (a female) was asking the other male offender to get on the floor & was trying every tactic in the book, the leg sweep, the roll over the shoulder, everything, but she just couldnt contain him. The gathering crowd were all laughing, when the female officer asked a bouncer opposite to come & help her get the male to the floor.

Now what is the point of the female officer?

What a joke?!
