I'm well pleased to see SOD back at the City Ground. When Billy was sacked I was hoping he might have been offered the job then. When he was brought in last Jan I thought it was to replace SC eventually and was disappointed when he left. However now he is back.
So why has nobody used the 'C' word - Continuity?
SC is sacked, his assistant steps up.
It's how it should happen. He knows the setup, he knows the players, he knows the staff, he is the only option who can hit the ground running. He was coaching the squad at the end of last season and he continues to coach them at the beginning of this one. He just needs a few signings (Pep, George, and Higginbottom or Clint Hill as skipper for £5 mill, should see us well on the way).
I'm very optimistic.

Nobody has used the 'C' word

I've heard that SOD never signed a contract with Crawley which means no compensation and no need to worry about tapping up.

Hi Silky...no offence taken mate. I just don’t understand where some of these commentators are coming from. No drink and no food between sunset and sunrise. Most Muslims I’ve worked with find the first week hard then just get on with it.
It doesn’t stop them from getting on with their business or work.

Red for 50 years, glad your feeling better now considering your doom and gloom from earlier this week.

Continuity is important. My concern is that the al Hasawi's made this appointment for the right reasons and not because they're skint, or because everyone else turned the job down. It's interesting that the spin about SoD being the key influence behind Guedioura being brought in on loan has wormed it's way out. It's totally unfair to credit SoD for Cotterill's good work, but yet somehow convenient for the club to perpetuate this now. I'm fully behind SoD. I like him, and I like the idea of giving someone relatively unproven at this level an opportunity. I think the Al Hasawi's still have to make a statement of intent though because without serious investment in the squad we'll struggle next year.

the reality is that until something is done about it, we are still up to our necks in faeces.
the owners still need to spend millions for us even to put a side out, there are no positives in having to field a central defensive pairing of moussi and mcgoldrick.

Don't let the facts get in the way of you having an opinion Spartacus.

O'Driscoll joined Forest on 19th Jan, Guedioura signed on 30th Jan. If it's true it didn't take SoD long to see what we needed. I assume Cotterill was waiting for deadline day for a particular reason. Not sure what!?
