they say

attack is the best form of defence.

with
Rooney
Nani
Valencia
Kagawa
Young
Welbeck

and possibly Lucas and RVP ( if reports are true)

could this be what Fergie is looking to do???

when you look at Barcelona, the only real sitting midfielder they have is biscuits, with Xavi and iniesta interchanging in front of him.
they attack from the front and put teams under pressure high up the pitch.

could fergie be looking at competing this way, and using carrick as our biscuits type player, hence all the attacking options??

What about our Xavi and Iniesta?

well you have kagawa for starters, who can play in front of carrick and also scholes, who although shouldnt be starting every week will still get enough games and can dictate play.

He's building a squad that is for the long term, whether it be with him as manager, or someone else. But Fergie is always looking at the long and short term of the club.

Look at the age of some of our players in the squad, all so young with huge potential, as well as having players in their prime. RVP might be a quick fix to regain the title, but others are a long term thing.

I still think the midfield needs addressing, but I wouldn't mind making do with what we have if we could have such amazing attackers.

Sometimes the beauty but the problem with United is our ability to always accommodate players due to squad rotation. Keeps everyone fresh and allows us to adapt to systems and our opposition, but also sees some of our play quite uncohesive and we don't actually know what our strognest team is.

All my non-United supporting friends ask me who will play when they want to pick United players for Fantasy football. Evra, Carrick, Rooney, keeper and Vidic (before his injury) were the only players I'd suggest would get you points on a weekly basis.

When asked about Valencia, Nani and Young it was hard to say who's play the most.

Carrick
Scholes Kagawa
Nani Rooney Welbeck

Carrick = Busquets
Scholes = Xavi
Kagawa = Iniesta

Nani = Pedro
Rooney = Messi
Welbeck = Villa

Our equivalents in the formation.
