Dennis Swift

Anybody heard about this story I heard on the radio this morning?
Bolton fan and part time poet Dennis Swift had compiled some poems on our dire state of affairs. He had a pop at Coyle and the players in a fun style way.Now I believe naively he tried to get the clubshop (Happy shop still to me) to stock it and was turned down flat which is fair enough.Next thing he knows the Dibble were at his door having a quiet word after complaints from the club.
Just goes to show me the world has gone completley bonkers

I've heard about this. He's a poster on the only other bolton forum i read, bwfcforum, and gave his story on there. seems like the club is being a bit over sensitive, but to be fair he seems like a proper anti-coyle ranter, so we dont know what he said.

Now I only caught a bit of the story but thats how it was summed up.As for abuse on a forum, people on here would be calling the Rozzers everynight of the week.Poor old Benny would be after around the clock care after his numpty series last season.

There's a big difference between giving grief to someone who works for football side of the club, it has become part and parcel of the game and it would be unenforceable to try to stop this.

However this individual singled out and named a commercial employee of the club for some pretty horrible abuse. If I was an employee of the club I would expect the club to complain to the police too

This is an attention-seeking individual who has made the mistake of abusing a private citizen on an internet forum, and he is attempting to muddy the issue by bringing criticism of Coyle and players into the issue.

Poets are bad,
It's always sad,
when their stuff don't rhyme,
like this one.

Well he might be a total prat, but what better way to get free publicity for his book eh? He's either a genius or a luck tool. I'm not sure who he is but his name and his poems have cropped up everywhere over the last few days and I bet he's not paid a penny for advertising or marketing yet!

It was in the Bolton News but got pulled - presumably at the request of the club, as there are a lot of inaccuracies in the story doing the rounds (such as the radio report you heard). The guy is making himself out to be a victim, when he isn't. He posted abuse about a club employee, the club had a word with the police, the police had a word with him.

The individual was on another forum I visit earlier today claiming the Sun have picked up the story and that the proceeds from the book are for charity. Whatever, he can stick the book up his backside for all I care.

Why would any club stock a book that criticised it's manager. People are entitled to their opinion but to write a poem, good or bad that criticises the manager of a club and expect that same club to sell it for him, is ridiculous. like largehat, for me he can stick it up his aris.

The book could have been highlighting something worthy, and the club probably wouldn't stock it. So why the eff would they want to stock a stupid book of poems criticising various aspects of the club? This whole thing screams 'desperate publicity stunt'.
