Big season ahead for young Derry born Shane Ferguson at Newcastle United.
Happy Birthday as well to Shane. He just turned 20 yesterday!!
Ferguson , while he only made 7 Premiership appearences for Newcastle last season is hotly tipped by many Newcastle supporters to force his way into their team on a more regular basis during the coming season.
Shane can play as either a Left back or a left winger. Lets hope he can impress this season and realise his dream of being selected for the Republic Of Ireland side and join the growing contingent of Derry born players who have proudly worn the Green jersey of the ROI.
Big season ahead for Shane Ferguson

@Louise
ROI is a fantastic place. But my career took me to the UK.
I have no complaints. I am a great admirer of the NHS, and have a good life here. But I also enjoy visiting friends and family in ROI. And am proud to say that I am Irish.
Luckily I dont have to go too near NI too often, what with everyone there having a chip on their shoulder......different shoulder, depending on your background.

Normal people here don't have a chip on their shoulder Dub. Just the tiny minority , who spoil things for others and give NI a bad name. Don't tar us all with the same brush please.

So those Irish hating loyalists up the Shankill Road give your mate dirty looks, what is the world coming to?? Next they will be sticking their tongues out and blowing a raspberry, wee rascals eh.

The irony is lost on you alexia. Rob said it would be unsafe for him to leave his car in certain parts of Belfast and my point was the worst that could happen is a few dirty looks. No need for the sarcastic response which makes you look like a thirteen year old.

Alex like it or not i'm not alone in my belief that it would be unsafe to drive a Southern Registered car through certain parts of Belfast and other parts of the North.
And to be honest the antics of some Nireland fans who travelled down to watch NIreland v Scotland at the Aviva in Februrary just backs up my opinion.
And yes i know they are a minortiy as the vast majority of NIreland Football fans just want to turn up and cheer their side on and have a bit of craic. But these people still exist.
Maybe it will take another generation before these people lose their biggoted attitudes

My apologies Mungo , didnt get the irony. Just used to the usual loyalist bashing that normal pops onto my screen whenever you type , again my apologies.

Unfortunately you’re doing plenty of tarring yourself.
