Hello all
I hope your weekend is going well. Massive kudos to the hardy souls who have made their way to South Lanarkshire for our second pre-season friendly today, at New Douglas Park, kick off 3pm. The Accies were formed in 1874 from a former school team, Hamilton Academy. Their kit man is called Danny Cunning. He has plans.
Hamilton Academical finished 4th in the SFL First Division last season and come into this game on the back of a 3-1 over the mighty Stenhousemuir.
Hamilton is the fifth biggest town (excluding cities) in Scotland and is known the world over for Hamilton Mausoleum, where lucky visitors can experience the world's longest echo. Laurie Brett, who played Ian Beale's wife Jane in EastEnders, is from Hamilton. It used to have a speedway track.
Today's Referee is Mr Willie Collum.
Today's Team, looks like 4-5-1 with super-Pratley in the hole.
Bogdan, Riley, Mills, Ream, Alonso, Chung-Yong, Vela, Andrews, Pratley, Petrov, K Davies
Subs -Mears, Eagles, Wylde, Knight, M Davies, Ricketts, O'Halloran, Eaves, Blakeman, Lynch
So just the 10 subs today then, not a full compliment of 11. The 'missing' sub is Cisse, who is on trial.

Hamilton Academical 2-0 Wanderers - lol

There's no doubt it's disappointing. Hamilton are not Championship standard and it'd be easy to panic. From what I heard (and I wasn't there) we created lots of chances. Sordell is with Team GB and Ngog is injured. They're our goal scorers.
I'll be at the Crewe game next week, as I'm sure a lot of you will be. Let's see who plays and how that one goes. And if it goes TU there's always Manhattan's.

ngog our goalscorer good one that. thats if he is injured and not sulking. re sordell great he is sat on the bench for team gb and missing all the the pre season friendlies.leaves us with k.davies.desperately need to get a goalscorer in.would look at santa cruz and dj campbell.do a bit of the old beg steal and borrow tactics sam used to get them both!

After the Ayr game on Wednesday, one of their strikers said Zat Knight was the best defender he'd ever played against.

What can you expect when Holden is injured

Look I'm well drilled that pre-season is all about getting fit and match sharp, but with Andrews own admission that last week was all about running and getting fit (that he was glad that he missed!), why are they not on the friggin' training ground practicing set pieces and PASSING instead of letting the fringes get a pasting off some 2nd division Scottish team?????? Coyle out.......,.........................:-I..........................:-d.........x

As i said to Largehat on twitter the other night,
I dont care about pre-season results, just as long as players get an opportunity to get some fitness, practice, are able to get more fluid, and avoid serious injury. After all, thats the point to them.
I'd rather lose every pre-season game and gain something, rather than win every game and learn nothing. But each to their own i suppose, i just dont see the point in getting angry about matches that are irrelevant, and purely to work towards the aforementioned.
Portsmouth, Tranmere and Barca B are the games we want to see a real performance, the matches against the hoofers such as Falkirk, Morecambe etc..id rather get some practice, fitness, and just get through unscathed.
