Would you rather

have won the champions league like we did (Underdog, backs to the wall, written off time and time again) or win it like say Barcelona (Favourites, good football, dominating games etc)
I know it probably sounds ridiculous but I would rather win it like we did, just to prove everyone wrong and shock the entire footballing world was just amazing, even after we'd won, no-one could quite believe we'd done it.
Especially considering it was our first time winning it, it was special to win it this way.

Which way would you have liked to win it?

How we done it, makes it more of a achievment

Don't care either way to be honest. The achievement is the same,a different way of achieving means drawing on a different set of resources.

Barca had their resources we had ours, and ours proved more durable than theirs last season.

Ill say as a Liverppol fan to win like we did in 05 was just the greatest thing I've experienced as a Liverpool fan, no one gave us a hope, we had LeTallac playing away to Juve with del piero in his pomp yet we go tthe results, then (sorry) but the semi final win over you boys was amazing and then for the final to go the way it did just completed it.

So exciting and I'm sure it was the same for you. I've no real love for Chelsea and I'm sure you feel the same towards Liverpool but I was cheering for yous v Barca and in the final.

Winning it in both fashions has it's silent gratifications. But i can only draw from my own experiences.

As someone who begun supporting Chelsea in the late 90s, i'll have no shame in admitting the 04/05 title win felt so underwhelming to me on that historic day in Bolton (i may just be a 'fake fan', who knows). Simply because our domination prior to that built up day made the event itself somewhat disappointing emotionally. Similar to when fantasies often turn out to be greater in the mind than in reality.

However, even if we'd have ran Bayern over in the final, i still would've been pouring my soul out like i was that night, because i got to live through that built up sense of frustration from day one - like some older fans got to live through the same thing domestically before their reward in 05.

So i'd have to say the battling underdog method wins through simple human physiology. The more we indentify with the journey, the greater we feel about something.
