I know TEG, it wasn't so long ago (in the greater scheme of things) that black players weren't good enough to play for England and that no foreign players would ever be able to cope in English football.

He's worth a trial but let's face it he has no chance of being Tyson or Theo Robinson.

i don't see the point in signing al-mutawa myself

firstly, striker is the only position where we have enough bodies.

secondly, he's been billed as 'one of asias best strikers' which clearly isn't the case. he has 39 goals in 118 caps for kuwait. that would be pretty impressive for a european or south american nation but kuwait never qualify for anything and he will have compiled most of those caps against teams like lebanon, oman and syria. 1 in 3 against opposition of that calibre isn't impressive by any measure.

Imagine if he's a success, and can provide us with a few goals, everyone in Kuwait will buy a shirt with his name on. That's got to be worth a few quid!
