Hi Guys,
Sorry to hear about the circumstances with Portsmouth my team Rangers in Scotland is going through the same horrible process.
There has been financial mismanagement at both clubs however i do believe English football has destroyed Scottish football into the bargin an that is a view widely shared here by the public.
My Question is and your probably expecting it is.
Would you like the idea of both Rangers & Portsmouth merging together?
Rangers have assets valued at £110million aka stadia etc added by dominant fan base throughout the UK, Scotland, England & Ireland combine that with what Portsmouth have to offer could be an incredible opportunity to create a fantastic club and friendship.
Its been well documented that the old firm have always wanted to escape Scottish football.
What's everyone thoughts here?. Your looking at a combined massive following, new 50,60,70,80k seater stadium with massive commercial potential.

Maybe putting it on the Portsmouth board would be a good idea.

Just a thought.

And where would this new stadium be?
It's a decent idea, but realistically it would never happen.

Interesting idea though I can never see it happening. Powers that be would view the move as setting a precedent and the powers that be (both in Scotland and England) have proven they are very reluctant to try anything as dramatic as that. FIFA and UEFA probably would have their penny's worth of 'advice' to offer also.
Personally, as a Rangers fan, I would welcome the move. On the one hand it would satisfy that body who seem to have set out to persecute the Ibrox club as well as those fans north of the border who have been, for years, clamouring for Rangers (and Celtic) to leave.
The benefit for Rangers would be that instead of starting at the bottom of the Scottish league and hoping to work their way up to the top of what is no more than a 'Mickey-Mouse' set-up, they would start at the bottom of a pyramid that could eventually lead all the way to the highest division in one of the top leagues in the world. They would certainly have, at worst, the same chance as any other club in the Conference (where they would probably be placed) and at best, given the massive support behind them, would stand a more than fair chance of being in the EPL within ten to 15 years under the present format.
Much better than working their way up to the top of the SPL (if it still exists) in 5 years or so.
Unfortunately, as I say, can't see it happening but a nice thought anyway mate. Good Luck to Portsmouth and their future anyway.

Thanks for your comment lads.
I think there would be little that Fifa or both FA's north and south could do.
