Kieran Trippier

Looks like Manchester City are going to offload their young british talents to make way for the constant flow of over rated big bucks signings. So, if we play the cards right, there could be a very good chance we'll seal a bargain for the young Mr Trippier. Plus, if I was him I'd tell them to pee off if they left me back at home while the foreign prima donnas toddled off on holiday. See sense Kieran lad! Come ta Barnsley we'll treat thi reyt haha

Im not saying i wouldnt have him back cos i would but weve got full backs coming out of our ears now. Id take him as a winger instead. Whoever gets him will get a good young player.

OK, alarm bells are starting to ring just a little bit. I'm not writing Hill off just yet, but I find this very worrying.

Trippier was excellent last season, Excellent set piece delivery, good work rate, multipositional, knows the team, comfortable at CCC level and he has his whole career in front of him. We can have him for free. I'll repeat that, we can have him, FOR FREE.

Why on earth would you turn that down? Is Wiseman really going to be better than him?

Also in a linked article, Harewood could potentially of made a permanent switch, another player who peformed well last season! And yet again Hill shows no interest.

This combined with him saying that there are some players who haven't made the grade on the summer camp, ie: The players he hasn't signed, just makes me worry every so slightly we have another Nigel Spackman, coming into the club, changing absolutely everything and making a mess of things.

PS.

Harewood going to china is hilarious, having watched extensive chinese football he will probably score 50 goals this season, unless of course the smog stops him from breathing.

Where did Hill say what you're suggesting, that was certainly not my interpretation of what he said!

Chinese whispers, perhaps?

Tripps would not be "free"...He'd command a hefty signing on fee and hefty wages.

OK, I've calmed down from my anxiety attack, and I am not a boo boy by nature.

OK firstly I can't find the link but on the club website there was a post saying "Training Camp update", in which Hill said somthing along the lines of "some players have met expectations, some haven't, some need to work harder" etc. If anyone has the link please post it.

Now this statement is not unreasonable and in principle I totally agree with it. My only concern is that he might be biased towards the players he has brought in which would be a shame because I think we have a lot of home grown talent coming through the ranks.

I'm not going to start judging the man until the 26th July, and even then I wont leap to any conclusions, just expressing a minor concern. Like I say having another Spackman is a nightmare situation, worst case scenario which i don't think we are at.

Yes I know that and you are probably right, but we could at least make him an offer that is reasonable and if he turns it down, he turns it down. Like with Bogdanovic, made him an offer he turned it down, let him go, more fool him.

I believe he spoke in the future tense; 'some might not meet expectations, some might not want to'. His latest words are on the club site.
I think it's early days yet, all will be revealed in time. I don't see why he would be biased, players will either meet his expectations or they will not. I'm not unhappy with that idea and, at the moment, I trust his judgment. The proof of the pudding will be in the eating of course!
