So the policing costs us £1.25 Million

They courts say they have to pay it back, nice if it goes to the kittly for players.

Probably end up in bates pocket though

When other clubs see us playing at 1 in the morning or 10 Sunday night they will decide not to bother

Erm, guys...which of you knows anything about legal process?

Even assuming there isn't an appeal by the police - and there could well be due to this being seen as a 'test case' on police charging for special services - the issue of money to be returned has not been dealt with.

If an appeal comes then any repayment could be many months away assuming LUFC were successful on appeal as well.

Even if an appeal doesn't come there are several weeks before a further appeal has to be made so unlikely to be any determination on amount for quite a few weeks at best.

By then I hope a t/o will have gone through.

Now there are ways a price can be earned out over time but if it is a straight money purchase then the issue will have been factored into the price regardless of outcome.

Unless the police have a good grounds for appealing they're stuck with it. They might try, but if the lose they could possibly bankrupt themselves...! Would they want to risk it...?

They'll have to prove something pretty spectacular I would suggest. The decision seems cut and dry.

I think they'll swallow their pride and live with it.

Quite possibly the most stupid thing I've ever heard

That someone could think that the police making a appeal, could bankrupt the police if thy lost, is beyond me.

Seriously Eric, are you this stupid

Might take a large chunk out of there budget though - and as I said before - why should the Leeds taxpayer subsidize policing of Leeds Utd?

This will not end well and we will lose out in the long run (one way or another) watch how many of our games get moved to unsocial hours now!!

Think they have to have a certain amount of plod per volume on matchdays - they could well be within their right to restrict out capacity because of this.

LIW I boycott games but would have gone to the west ham game

If they have no budget at the end of a costly appeal what would you call it LIW...?

Perhaps

Financially ruined; impoverished.

Would that suit better...?

Eric

How many times do the they spend millions on cases that they lose.

If they think there's a good chance of overturning it, they will go for it.

If they don't, they won't

But it certainly won't bankrupt them either way

Hardly any I would suggest under these circumstances.

I agree 'if they think there's a good chance' under these circumstances I (me) don't think there's a good chance, I don't think they'll have a go at it.

I agree if they don't they won't.

You can be financially ruined or impoverished, which is actually under the definition of bankrupt, you don't need to go to court to fit the definition..! You can equally be morally bankrupt.

You know what the statement I made means.

West Yorkshire Police would be foolish (IMO) to attempt something they would (IMO) lose. It would be financially reckless.

You of course can disagree, that's for you to decide.
