City - 2 min of domination , 2 goals , 9 shots
Arsenal - 88 min of domination, 18 shots, chinese players names printed, a chinese banner carried by the whole team at the end to pay respect to the chinese and the obvious red colour of the team
Your thoughts? Will this help us get as much money as city already has ?
Ah ah
Who won the chinese fans over?

It depends on how you define 'lost'. Our owners used their own money to bolster their investment, they didn't take out dodgy loans they could potentially default on.
Whatsmore, the 'loss' of £194m was for the 09/10 season, a year when our spending was unprecedented and is never likely to be repeated. We have won 2 trophies, had 2 years of European football and signed some very lucrative sponsorship deals since then.

I agree that if teams go down the City or Chelsea route the owner should not be allowed to borrow money. It should be their own. In the future if City do balance the books, it will be interesting to see how well they will do.

Chelsea and City's owners have entirely different agendas. ADUG (our parent company) will expect to at least break even over the next 3 years and start to make a profit, it might take a further 15 years for them to actually get their money back but you can't put a price on the publicity it is giving Abu Dhabi and it's no secret that was the reason they bought us in the first place.

"Jackie Chan aside no one in China has heard of Man city so its simple"
Well thats just changed hasn't it ? We don't need to go sucking up to the Chinese by printing our players names on the shirts in Chinese, we'll let our football be our selling point. 2-0

"I sure the locals will find they have more in common with Arsenal's humble background, than City's lavish and wasteful excesses."
really, how much did these humble chinese pay for their Arsenal shirts? Did the gooners give them a discount due to their humble backgrounds?
Actually the wastefull excesses are not City's, it is our owner that is spending his own money earned through investment and canny business acumen, something the Chinese will appreciate.

Some clubs buy their way to the title and put the club in huge debt as a result but manage the debt apart from Leeds who were lucky they did not end up like Rangers.
Owners of clubs like City's owners do not put the club in financial peril because they are investing their own money and not placing the debt on the club's books.
So to say we are buying the title by putting the club in huge debt is not really true, the owners could wipe out any debt we incur with the stroke of a pen and barely notice. This may sound arrogant but it's the situation we find ourselves in and jealousy from other fans is only to be expected, you just need to deal with it.
