at that age he still needs to play regularly to continue to develop, whether that is in the reserves or loaned out. it's better than him being promoted to the first team and never starting. i'm sure he will be given a few subs places on occasion tho just nothing guaranteed every week.

He wont commit to a new deal so why should the club commit to giving him that step up? say we bow to his demands now and the vultures start circling before he signs a new deal?
