I would like to ask you all to consider sponsoring my efforts to run the three 10k runs organsied by Run For All, which was set up by Jane Tomlinson in 2007. I have done a few of these races in the past, but this year am doing all three (Leeds, and Hull done, York to go). This year I am running for Jo’s Trust, which is a charity that supports those who are suffering from (or have suffered from) cervical cancer. This is because my wife, Karen, was diagnosed in February of this year with Cervical Cancer. Despite a good prognosis and “catching it early", it was recommended that she have a radical hysterectomy, which she did in April. This meant that she was discharged just before her 35th birthday (Good Friday) and is still likely to be off work for the next few months. In addition, she has now got to get her head around having had cancer, and the fact that the option of more children (we have two Little Terriers) has been taken away from her with little discussion or option.
Jo’s Trust have been recommended to us by a friend with a similar story, and Karen is about to embark on attending various support meetings with them.
So, I’m asking if some of you would consider putting your hand in your pocket and sponsoring me. If you would I’ll love you for ever and ever, and you will my unending gratitude.
My sponsorship site is http://www.justgiving.com/BigDaddyG2012
Thanks for taking the time to read this. Anyone who knows me or who has seen me on one of the many quiz shows I’ve whored myself around to will know I’m a lardy boy who will struggle to get round ten kilometers, but I will do it for my missus. Plus, I’ll have excess energy to burn off for the next few months, if you catch my inappropriate drift….
Thanks again….I've raised almost £500 and would love to get through that barrier.....cheers all
