Just looking at our 'potential' team next year, if we are to believe the rumours I think we will have a very competitive team.
If we managed to pull off the signing of Beckford, his and Becchios partnership could be crucial in this league, Becchio has proved his worth in this league before and works really well with Beckford who we know can finish.
A swap deal for McCormack and McKail-Smith I would welcome IF we got Beckford if not I don't think Mckail-Smith and Becchio would work.
George Boyd to play back out on the wing (works well with McKail-Smith in their Peterborough days) he has done well in an average Peterborough side no disrespect to them but he's worth a punt.
And Peltier at the back leaving us with a solid back 4!
I believe this side would be very competitive.
We have 2 solid CM's making us hard to break down. With just these 3 signings maybe 4 in Macca goes we would challenge the playoffs at least. I don't think any of these signings are optimistic and well with in our range.
Kenny
Peltier. Lees Pearce Drury
Rodgers/Varney Austin Green Boyd
Becchio
Beckford
Ashdown, McKail-Smith, Crainie, White, Norris
Get it done Leeds!! MOT!

Thats not enough for me.
Its got to be a team that get us automatic.
We're are people happy that we have a team thats competitive, is that how low people's hopes have dropped

Eddie Gray in the YEP says we are fine for strikers

To be honest I think we're 4 signings away from being ready for promotion.
GK we're fine. Defence needs a RB and cover for CB (probably Crainie) and LB we've got good options.
Centre mid I feel is where we're strongest (providing Austin signs). Plenty of competition for places and good players as well.
But I think adding Peltier, Boyd and Mackail Smith or Maynard would set us up. Boyd can play on either wing or behind the striker as can Varney...flexibility and movement always good.
I'd choose Maynard over Beckford. Beckford, although a great goalscorer for us in League 1, was a luxury player. The only time he ever ran his balls off for the club was the last game he played for us. Although he'll always be a hero for us, I think his time has been and it's time for someone new.
Really hoping we can get the Maynard deal.
Competition and options for places would be great.

I think everyone has got carried away with our signings so far.
Kenny - agreed - done it before ticks all the boxes.
Pearce - Had 1 season in The Championship with a struggling Portsmouth side - If he was the superstar we all think surely he would have been picked up by now (he's mid 20s)
Drury - Will he last a season & has his legs gone - makes you wnder why Norwich were so keen to get rid of a stallwart on their books for 11 years.
Austin - An unknown factor - could be anything and hyped up as much as Nunez last season.
Norris - Probably our best signing so far - proven at Championship level and would probably still be at Ipswich if he had kept his gob shut about his mate in prison.
Varney - Not impressed
Gray - A player Warnock likes, but released by Barnsley and only other interest came from Bradford - legs have gone but still knows where the goal is maybe - think this was a favour from Warnock.
Ashdown - Good cover for Kenny - best no2 we've had in years!
Green - Is he the same player since his very bad injury - Some Derby fans think not, but time will tell!
We are nowhere near a team ready to challenge for top 2 places - need 3/4 very good players!

Madness how people think Beckford is the answer. He only works if you sacrifice the whole team to the Beckford cause and only an idiotic manager would do that. I don't think Warnock is an eejot like Larry. Sheep need to use their bloomin heads instead of calling for Beckford, parrot fashion ,like!
