30 days left will City add to their squad?

Its obvious what’s at play here, Marwood wants to create the best possible situation by getting rid of certain players before he allows Mancini to sign the 5 players he needs to challenge for the champions league. Mancini already knows the players he wants but is getting twitchy about losing them to potential suitors.

The huge advantage City have is because of the depressed market its unlikely all 5 will be bought but already 1 of his targets, Brazilian defender Silva has gone to PSG. I think if Arsenal are to sell van Persie they will most likely sell to City. Lets face it Arsenal have never been shy to sell to Premier league rivals and money is the one thing that drives most of their deals except with Cesc. I think Fergie may be willing to pay top dollar for Robin but wages would be the issue.

Most City fans are not a fan of Robin but Mancini is a rotational manager. He doesn’t believe in using the same team all the time. He likes to mix things up and have as many options at his disposal and van Persie is being bought primarily for Europe.
If Tevez goes Robin will be a huge buy for City.Forget the bad taste it leaves about how City flash money and take rival players united Built their team by buying of rival players.Imagine how Westham fans feel when they think of Ince,Rio,Carrick!

The second real issue city have is in central defence. They just don’t have enough cover there and Im not convinced Lescott is as good as most people think.

If Kolo leaves they actually need 2 central defenders in my opinion. The other position Mancini is possibly looking at is Central Midfield to cover for Yaya and in light of Barry getting on I think that’s the one area they may have to act fast. We have seen how Fergie has not fixed his own soft center as the players of united standard simply aren’t available or too expensive. I think City will sign Martinez. I think Barca want him on the cheap and won’t get him as they are well stocked in that area and need to start raising money if they want to sign Neymar.

Then there is Tevez? I think City want to sell but Carlos doesn’t want to leave anymore. The allure of silverware has changed his mind but given the money he earns and trouble he potentially brings if any club were to offer huge money they would let him go, but who will? PSG has already signed Zlatan!

United would sell anyone if the price is right but at the moment they haven't got anyone who is universally coveted like Aguero or Silva.

BS, Boris. Any team will sell any player if the price is right.
And neither of the aforementioned is 'universally coveted'. The Silva whispers to Madrid are unfounded.

Aguero, perhaps - and only one team could afford him but that is moot.

How is it that we never hear of any club supposedly showing interest in any of United players then?

Boris, you are an uber-wum (with luminous moments of clarity) and i am not really one to indulge wums.

If you believe the inverted piffle that the likes of Daily Fail put out everyday with regards to transfers or the machinations by players unscrupulous agents then kudos to you.

Vidic was coveted by many, so was Rooney (by you lot even), Nani ( if his agent is to be believed), even Berba...

Anyhow, it is 'silly season'. I guess as we cant play Whodunnit; we can play Whowantedwhom!

Am I the only one who is not overly concerned that we haven't signed anybody yet ?

This time last season, Aguerro had been with us for less than a week and Nasri hadn't been signed at all and they didn't do that badly considering they had no pre-season with us

Wumming What is it with you lot?

Any observation on United that isn't full of glowing superlatives is considered a wum these days.

Boris - well your reputation precedes you

Whilst i am not a City fan, i dont indulge in some of the endless tug-of-war that exists here between fans.

City were the better team, last season. Fair and square.

I was just highlighting that a lot of the covetedness is due to the shoddy reportage of the British press.
There is very little truth in any of them.

It seems to me that United have a raft of young players that have yet to prove themselves, several player who are past their sell-by date plus Rooney, Valencia and Nani - The latter 2 of which are only highly rated by United fans themselves.

As for wumming, I'd rather be accused of being a wum than a bigot.

if City's players are so coveted and great and United's pant how come City couldnt get more points than United ?
the last gasp fluke has seriously gone to your guys heads. all I see is a club shackled by the FFP until they sell a lot of undertalented overpaid dross.

I'm not bothered how many points United got because it's now irrelevant but Kompany, Silva and Aguero would attract a lot more attention from prospective buyers than their United counterparts. Unfortunately for others, they're not for sale.
